Beauty riddled with problems
Me and my friends got this game together to do some Co-op playing. After playing the demo we all got it and dug into the world of Outriders. The story seemed interesting, finding a new planet to live and to rebuild the human race after losing earth. Throughout the game we could really enjoy the graphical fidelity and design, the monsters and enemies in general were interesting to discover and it was really enjoyable.
The problem however, this game is still pestered with bad design choices, (game-breaking) bugs and crashes which unfortunately had such an impact on the gameplay that I do NOT recommend this game in the current state. Especially since this game has been around for a while and all these problems should not exist anymore.

The good
First of all, this game is an absolute beauty. The world design is quite epic and I thoroughly enjoyed walking around this alien planet. The world actually feels like an alien planet and not just some earth look-a-like. There are quite a few places that are absolute gems to just stop and have a look around, watch in awe.
Second, the gameplay is actually quite fluid, the shooting and skill dynamics are solid and the game does not seem to have any performance problems. Rushing through the enemies while managing your health bar and skills is a lot of fun and can be very challenging depending on your game settings.
One other thing to mention is that we had a solid 50 hours of gameplay starting with a new character and finishing all main quests, side quests and expeditions (which are endgame instances). We like to search for hidden spots, items etc. and during this time I managed to get about 95% of the game completed without really spending time focusing on 100% completion.

The bad
Well, where to start...

Bugs
Bugs bugs bugs, throughout the game there are countless of bugs, some of which are absolutely game-breaking bad. To give some examples:
  • Skills not working or simply not casting, leading to imminent death.
  • As a trickster, my main character, teleporting bugs out quite a lot, ending up with my avatar becoming completely invisible until you return to the lobby and rejoin.
  • This same teleporting skill has gotten me in some very bad situations where there are no mobs left and I'm stuck on a ledge. If it were not for having teammates, this would require me to go to lobby and start over.
  • Quite a few times my trickster got an immortality bug where I would never be targeted and could not be damaged. I could still do everything however, making expeditions a breeze as I couldn't die anyway. This bug happened so many times I lost count and it completely ruins the gameplay. After searching online, this bug was even reported before the actual release and it's somehow still in here, unbelievable.
  • At certain times, during combat, everything would just freeze and become unresponsive. Can't walk, move, attack, just wait to be killed.

Story progress
During the story everyone in the party gains the same amount of XP and has the same progression throughout. However, due to some inconsistencies, somehow, someone will fall behind. This wouldn't really matter that much if it weren't for this person to lose the ability to progress when this happens. When this person that falls behind is not the lobby owner/party leader, they will not level up and also their world tier will never increase.
That brings me to the second issue, when you are world tier 7 for example, the friend you join is world tier 8, you will never progress with your own world tier! This got us into some really bad situations where one of us got behind at least 3 world tiers even though we all did everything together, always.

Crashes
Then there are crashes and unfortunate choice to not have a rejoin after disconnect function. Especially during the endgame expeditions, as soon as you reach the final stage, nobody can enter the game. I've had countless of crashes during these final stages of expeditions without a possibility to get back into my progress (my friends were still in there). Every time this happened, I lost 30 minutes of my time and not getting the loot at the end. This game not having an option to reconnect to a game lobby you were in is not acceptable these days as this seems basic functionality for any multiplayer game on the market today.

Cut scenes for the cut scenes
One other design choice that's extremely annoying are the cut scenes, they are everywhere. Walk into a mission, cut scene. Move down a rope, cut scene. Elite mob spawns, cut scene. Walk into a new area, cut scene. Open a door, cut scene! Please STOP! There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to have all these cut scenes, they are extremely annoying!

Loot problems
Then onto loot, in the endgame everything is about the legendary equipment. The legendary equipment has a chance to drop at the end of expeditions and then seems to be random at first. But after running a few dozen of expeditions you will find that you only get duplicates, all the time. There seems to be something completely wrong or some invisible mechanic that causes this and it's extremely frustrating as you try to complete a certain build. This is also the point where we just gave up and finished the last expedition to call it quits.

Conclusion
For us as a Co-op game playthrough, we had a lot of fun when we forget all the bad bugs and glitches. Unfortunately the bugs are so extremely annoying and always seem to be happening, no matter what you do, that it actually pulled this game to the negative side for us. Which is a shame, because the base of the game and graphics are awesome.

You decide, can you look past all these problems? Then by all means try it, it's great!
If you are more like us, your enjoyment being bashed to the ground because of bugs, then please, save yourself the frustration. Because that's really what the 70 hours I've put into this game were, mostly frustration and hope for it to become better down the line. (Which it, unfortunately, didn't...)

Where to start...
Remnant is a game with a lot of things happening. It's packed with things to do, throws up quite a challenge even at normal difficulty, has a good story, enough to explore and much, much more...

TL:DR
In short, this is a great game to play in Co-op (3 players max!), the performance is great, graphics are absolutely art worthy and it is great to play through. The game uses a fine balance between attack and dodge mechanics and feels very fluent.
The time you take depends completely on your play style, you can rush and finish the story within 10 hours and be done with it, or take some more time to find the many secret loot, area's of interest and take about 30 hours to finish the story. The story line is nicely diverse in terms of enemies, area's and bosses.
After finishing the story, there are still lots of things to discover and play through. If you are looking for a smooth RPG/Dungeon game for Co-op I definitely recommend this one!

Story
The story of Renmant becomes more clear as you progress, it starts off fairly mysterious and develops into the full picture as you go. The main story is told as you follow the main objectives and explains most things. Less obvious are all the extra's on the side. They don't really come as optional objectives, but searching the different area's for hidden diaries and research logs will give you a lot more information. Some of these notes even give you an extra "heads up" for what is to come, containing hints for attacking specific creatures for example.
As said in the TL:DR, rushing through the story will bring you to the credits within 10 hours. Trying to discover secrets and specifics, reading ~50% of the hidden notes along the way, the game took close to 30 hours to get to the credits (this is what I did). One thing to note, there are still things in my mind from playing, there were parts I didn't have a specific item and left it for a later time, I estimate you can easily put 100-150 hours into this game trying to figure all these things out.

Graphics/Art
One thing I absolutely loved was the setting and map design. We started the game on a post-apocalyptic Earth which was really taken care of with all the details and were pretty impressed by it. Later into the game however, we got to a different area (no spoilers) which made us "Wow..." all together, we actually took a good 5 minutes to take in the beauty and respect the time put into this. Throughout the game we've had multiple times where we all agreed that the map design and graphics design was absolutely stunning.
To be honest, I would be happy paying to just walk around without a story...

Replayability
The game is set around specific area's where you walk around and find ways to progress. In these area's there are often multiple dungeons to clear, after the dungeon you usually run into a boss to fight, clearing the area.
Now, all these different area's are actually so different that you barely notice this repeating pattern during the story, but you will notice if you keep playing after finishing the story. That being said, there is still a lot for us to discover, we've met maybe 50-60% of the bosses and have so many things to still unlock or find (like weapons, mods etc).
When you unlock everything (or working hard to), you can create all possible combinations of gear and mods, this will allow you to create multiple "builds" which all have different pro's and cons for some more added depth. The talent system will also keep you busy for quite some time.

Ending notes
The game is very well built, it's stable and can be adjusted to run well on quite a few systems. If you run into low FPS problems, disable or lower shadows quality, it will save quite a bit of strain on the GPU.
I have just finished the main game, going through it with at least one other friend at all times. I think Co-op is the main thing for this game to enjoy it more. Everything can be done solo, but it's just better with at least two.
Game is worth every dollar/penny/cent, I wish more studio's would make games like this!

First off, I absolutely dislike soccer
...let alone soccer games. This game however, is something completely different.

I would never have bought this game myself, but I got it for free years ago, with my purchase of the Steam Controller. Fun fact, I barely ever used the controller and am one of the few that plays KBM.

So if you hate soccer, then why play, you ask?
This is nothing like soccer, the only resemblance is the goal really. This game requires a crazy amount of skill and the skill cap keeps rising and rising, players still finding out new techniques and evolving older ones. You need inhuman reaction speeds, more than any FPS I've ever played and perfect control of your car, literally coming down to timing in microseconds. On top of that, you need to know your angles and predict everything.

I'm none of the above, is this for me?
Besides the extreme competitive gameplay up in the top ranks I have quite a few friends just playing for fun and still play after all these years.

Should I get it?
To me this is the best game in the past 5 years, I've played a lot of AAA titles on all kinds of platforms and this is the only game I keep coming back to.
Although I must say, this type of game really isn't for everyone, you may love it or hate it, just play through the first hours of frustration not hitting anything and judge afterwards.
For this pricetag, it's a steal and looking back at it, I'd still buy it for 100+ euro. (Which I spent supporting the game with ingame keys when they were still available.)

Honest review, tl:dr I have played for about an hour and I feel like I've done everything there is to the game. The current level of content is dramatically low and not worth it at the moment.
Some people seem to compare to NMS, this is nothing like NMS at all.

The good:
Astroneer seems to have a good vibe due to the music.
Cartoony world has a fun feel to it.
If you like to build and scavenge this is for you.

The bad (please know that I'm fully aware of the Early Acces tag!):
The graphics are just not on par with current games, the textures are low resolution and playing on an Ultrawide looks ugly.
As soon as I boot, I start with 60FPS (VSync), every minute of exploring slowly takes away FPS, I stopped when I reached 20 FPS, it got unbearable.
Content, content, content. Even for an Early Access game, this is just not enough.

The game has potential, but it's far from there in my opinion, so for now I can not recommend.
PS: Running on an i7 5820k, 16GB DDR4, 980Ti. 3440x1440

First of all, I think Rec Room deserves a nomination in the current STEAM AWARDS!
I have nominated Rec Room for the WHOAAAA, DUDE! Award.

This is why:
The social aspect of Rec Room is beyond belief, so many games I've played have been terrorized by socially challenged and retarded players, the so called "Toxic" player communities. In Rec Room, this is completely different.
The ability to talk, have a chat and interact with the playerbase is awesome and I think it's all because of the way you made this game: Positive!
This whole game shows positivity all around, it's all fun and games, party and laugh. The player base copies that positivity and it shows, I have yet to meet another "Troll" in Rec Room.

The fact that this game is free I think deserves and award, I would totally pay to play this, but I don't have to!
Keep up the good work!

I honestly hope Rec Room will receive an award, even though unlikely comparing the playerbase of VR to the normal games, but here's one vote from me anyway!

Well what to say about this.... Just wow!
I spent just 45 minutes flying around discovering places, I was able to actually fly to all the spots I've been to on vacations. There is so much to discover...
Completely zooming in on the Grand Canyon, where I stood just a few months ago gave me almost the same feeling in VR as in RL.

This program makes you realize we are so small and earth is beautiful.
Great experience!

On a completely different note, comparing this to the many VR tech showoffs, Google Earth VR nails it and makes all the others look like childsplay.
I do hope that streetview can be added in the future, it will make it an even more complete experience.

TL;DR
Good gameplay with lots of problems surrounding it.
If you really like these kind of games and focus only on the gameplay, try it.
If you are a guy like me that likes some amount of eyecandy and overall working game, don't.

General graphics and options
It seemed like this was a fun little game to play and spend some spare time, initially I was pulled in by the aesthetics which made me purchase the game.
However upon starting the game I was greeted with really low resolution graphics and fixed on 16:9 (black bars left and right). I can get over the 16:9 fixation, since this is a 2D game and it needs a lot of work to make 21:9 supported. (Ori and the blind forest has this too, with a good reason.) I game on a 34" 3440x1440 (21:9) monitor and the jagged edges of the font and other graphics in game were really not pleasing on the eyes. First thing I did was go into the options which pretty much had nothing in there to actually make a difference to the game. There are only a few options total which adjust some ingame rendering settings.

Interface
How the interface works is pretty counterintuitive. After finishing the level, there are only 2 options: one being Save and Continue and the other Save and Quit. The perfection guy in me wanted to retry the level since I only got 1 star, but there was no option.
Going with the Save and Continue option (since I don't want to quit the game), I ended up in the next level, which I didn't want to! I expected to get to the level selection. Immediately I pressed Esc to get back to the menu, but it didn't do anything. I found myself going through every button on my keyboard to find out how to get some kind of menu with options. Eventually Q got me out to the level selection. Soon I found out that R is for restart.
(Note: a few levels farther, I think level 5, there were some instructions for Q and R. Which is pretty late.)

Exit bug
Exiting the game is not working correctly on my machine (Win10), the process keeps running and Steam keeps saying I'm still ingame. Leaving me with no other option than to manually kill the process.

Gameplay
Gameplay is exactly as shown, it's fun to spend some time. It plays like Angry Birds and other games alike. I like the dark setting and the art on the background, the lightbeams and shadows look fun and move really smooth. However, again really jagged edges/pixellated.

Sound
Then onto the sound, at first I thought, nice piano. But it got unbelievably repetitive even in the short time I played through multiple levels. Some sound effects seem really simple and a bit off. (Like the very loud piano bash when you hit a "monster" or fly off screen.)

Conclusion
I like the actual gameplay, good to make time pass. However, in my opinion, too immature development wise. It needs a lot of polishing for me to become a playable game. There are too many things that are quite frustrating and annoying that completely pull my focus away from the actual game.
I hope there will be some updates in the future.
