Under no duress nor threat of stabbing I would hereby like to express my utter delight at the existence of our new cuboid overlords and welcome you all to join the enlightened.

10/10 - Would cube again.

First off, as someone who utterly adores this game and wanted nothing more than for this DLC to be an ancient relics 2.0, it brings me great pain to say that this is genuinely the only Stellaris DLC I go out of my way to disable. The rifts are interesting, and the relics are cool, but if i'm being honest the entire thing feels like a badly made mod.

I don't say this lightly mind you, we've had our fair share of bad paradox DLCs here, but the fact that half the new relics are either game-breakingly strong and/or blatant power creep on existing relics (and not even in an interesting way) combined with the fact that "azilash" (lower case intentional unfortunately) and all the content related to it feels cheap at best and actively detrimental at worst. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth unlike any DLC paradox have put out before.

I could spend far longer here ranting about the poor decisions made when developing this DLC and I haven't even touched on the fact that it was marketed as a full blown expansion. Suffice to say, I wouldn't buy this DLC again.

TL;DR: Play with mods, there are objectively better mods on the workshop for exactly the content this DLC was meant to provide with far less random baggage tagged on.

Its a really good game but I wouldn't recommend it at its current price. The content is generally too limited and there's a pretty clear optimal strategy on most maps which in my opinion takes away from the game as a whole. Overall, If its cheap on sale its great but otherwise don't bother.
