The game is clearly built for hardcore fans of the genre, new players should avoid this until more accessibility features and modes are added.
No tutorial, very little single player content.
Neutral game feels very flowchart-y, there's a universal strong defensive option in crouch cancel that takes away a ton of variety in approaches at lower percent. High percent ends up being a ton of fishing for kill moves instead of trying to adapt to the hits that you might find all around a character's kit.
The game-feel of being hit with a killing blow makes me think "oh THAT killed?" while other times i'm genuinely surprised that something isn't KO'ing. The speed a character flies away during hitstun is really ambiguous in a bad way.

I backed the kickstarter and hope the game gets better with a couple patches and a new DLC or two. I'll come back when those releases drop and reevaluate this review.

I played this game when it released over a decade ago. The game's "feels" motivated me to start lifting and ask a girl I thought was cute out on a date in highschool. Fast forward to today I'm married to that same girl and have two kids. Thank you Four Leaf for your hard work then and now. Congrats on the Steam release!

Fun mixture of anime and street fighter style fighting games. Lobbies need improvement but the rollback netcode carries the online experience to be great. Solid soundtrack, pretty graphics and consistent developer communication about DLC and future additions. Game balance is rocky as of now, but the devs have made it clear they're willing to hear feedback from the community...unless it's about their Habbo Hotel lobby system.

Easily one of the best introductory fighting games due to the vast amount of tutorials included with the game that cover most mechanics.
