I went into this hoping it would be at least half as good as Obduction was and was really surprised. I probably enjoyed it just as much. It took me around 16 hours to beat and I enjoyed every minute of it. The pacing was perfect and every time I felt like there wasn't anywhere left on the island to explore a whole new branch opens up and blows you away. The reusable puzzle mechanics really impressed me and left me hoping it inspires other developers to get more creative. Puzzle games like this have been slowly been becoming more about finding items you need as opposed to finding items and figuring out how to use them in the world.

I made a positive review right after my initial play through and it didn't give this game justice. After letting the game sit in my head for the past few days I needed to play it again. I just finished my second play through and I'm dying to play the next episode. The first thing I noticed when I started my second play was how much life the devs were able to put into the world in a just single episode. I felt almost nostalgic playing it even though my last playthrough was five days ago. I got chills during the final scene both times. Standing at the lighthouse and looking out over Arcadia Bay at the end made me realize how much I want to explore more of this games world. The main complaint I see about this game is that the dialogue is cheesy and that it's "an adults idea of how teens talk". As a 19 year old I gotta say that teens these days probably use obnoxious slang and references twice as much as the characters in this game. Anyone who says otherwise is repressing memories of how stupid they sounded when they were teenagers while trying to impress their friends. I can't wait for the episodes to come.
