Negative point:
Vaulting is janky
same voice lines repeated
game bots to fill the slots.

Neutral points:
There's a battle pass, but only 10-ish things are paid (character skin, weapons skins and premium currency (that doesn't have a good way to spend it, for now?), a character and weapons are tied to the BP, but they are free.
There's a lot of menu clutter, thank ♥♥♥♥ for the "!" marks, or I would miss a lot.
Weapon customisation is kinda useless, but it means your weapons as base kit are somewhat the same as big players.
kinda too much on the sexualize side on some character, which I don't like, personally.
I would whish for more maps variety. Only 2 maps environement for 5~6 maps.

Positive point:
The game is optimised, surprisingly...
it is fun
the abilities are neat, but the main way to get kills are to shoot.
you unlock stuff slowly by playing the game
a good range of characters, light ones are fast and deadly, but dies just as fast, heavy characters takes a LOT of damage to die.
The TOD is always between 1~4 seconds, long range is a pain which I like.

This game is a love hate relationship.
the bosses are the best and the worst things in this game. you screw over 3 time in a row and it's death.
You HAVE to learn every pattern, down to the rythm to parry every hit, only to figure out that the 2nd and 3rd phases change the patterns and redo everything. while some battles can take up to 6 minutes.
also, this game has 3 parry, normal, air parry and charged parry. The air one can parry the RED attacks, and the charged parry the RED flame attacks. I cannot disern them in half of a second, and I'm dead.
But when you kill them, I cannot stop myself from popping off. They are great, but so tedious.

Other than that, the metroidvania aspect is great. I would just wish manual saves because I need to redo the game a second time for achievements I missed.
It took me 30 hours to 100% this game and only controller cable broken out of frustration.

There is multiple words I am avoiding to have this review in the "ignore massive review bomb" tick box.
I thought the recent news weren't that bad, I did made an account way before all that. Gamers are screaming and crying all the time at unlimited amount, look at team Fortress 2 lol
But the big suits above the devs removed the game in multiple countries to avoid bad press, just to get way more
Also, the devs want us to review the game and refund to give them ammo against the big suits.
I am doing my part.

I'll be real, I didn't liked it at first.
Too much speed, couldn't see stuff in front of you while dashing, weird controls on keyboard, I refunded it.
Then, after a while, I got a controller, I pirated the game and ... It was very enjoyable.
So, I bought it again and look at this, 45 hours and I P-Ranked everything and got all achievements. THis game is bloody awsome.

You know a game is good where a specific type of racism is allowed and encouraged.
Screw those knife ears leaf lovers.

A cute N64 style platformer that I really enjoy! Its low price and asthetics made me buy this game immediatly.
It's one of those game that I hope more people knows about, because it will be forgotten in the depth of Steam games.
But it has made me smile. And it's what I needed.

This review was made before any content update or hotfix. Basically 1.0 or close to it.

Not worth 40$. I finished the campaign at 75% overall completion in 6.1 hours.
This game is labelled about mods everywhere. But as of now, no mods, other than avatars, has been made.
Boneworks is cheaper, longer, and slightly more enjoyable than bonelabs.
Also, controls. I'm playing with a vive controller, which NO MATTER THE GAME, has been taken into account, even boneworks! but Getting up, jumping and crouching is the same button. Touching the touchpad does nothing and you need to press and hold to move and do anything.
But then, vehicle! To lean left and right, it's with the left touchpad, made for wolking around, and the right touchpad, to crouch and jump? Now it is use to drive around! BUT BY TOUCHING THE TOUCHPAD. If you press, it remove you from the seat!

The best part was the 02 to 05 levels. They were enjoyable! and the fist combat arena was awesome! Like Hotline Miami music mixed with close combat!
But I cannot say the same thing with the parkour, or even Bridge04 where I basically went out of my way because a jump was impossible.
The shooting is okay, but the weapon handling is not well made. Some weapons glued to your hands (like boneworks and any game with guns), some don't. Some grips glue to your hand, some don't.
Not worth the money right now.

Played because it look like a cute game.
Stayed because of the story and the unknown.
Stayed even more for the "ahah! I knew it!" and the "holy molly, that's so clever!"
Stayed even futher because OH GOD IT'S NOT OVER
Stayed until the golden path has been finished, shared my wisdom and shred a tear.

I must share my wisdom, this game is one of the best I've played. It's up there with PORTAL 2 and A Hat in Time.
The puzzle are amazing, the golden path is the best puzzle I've finished without guides.
This game teaches you very little and let you understand things.
I love this game.

Here comes Niko is a sweet little game for those who want a chill and calm plateformer game.
Collect things and talk to cute characters, the music is always on par to your surrondings, the challenges aren't that challenging (except pre-patch Salmon Peek beach ball minigame) and it was a blast.
8 hours and 100% completion.
I think this game is worth 15€ and not 21€, but I'm just being picky,
it was a great experience.
