This demo feels a lot more like the first 2 games in the series, especially Beholder 1, so I'm eager to see what the rest of the game is like. I encountered no bugs and the game ran smoothly. Overall it's a good (short) demo of the game.

I do wish we could pet the cat, but I'm hopeful that we get to interact with it more throughout the full game

Don't write reviews too often, but this game is an absolute masterpiece. From the cute interactions between the characters to the extreme amounts of customization, this game might aswell be perfect. (And it's still in development!)

GENERAL GAMEPLAY:
In the game, you grow up alongside the love interest, Cove, as you gradually become older. Overtime, you form a stronger bond with Cove and can, eventually, start dating him. But this is entirely optional! You can decide to stay as friends, or even not be interested in him whatsoever. (Although, that would break my heart.)
The game is divided into "Steps", which are different time periods.
Step 1: 8 Years old
Step 2: 13 Years old
Step 3: 18 Years old
Step 4: 23 Years old (In development)

Each step starts with a specific situation that happens at the start of the summer. After you finish that, the game let's you pick from 5 different "Moments", which are activities and interactions that happen during the summer. These can be played in any order and can be skipped if preferred. With the dlc, you unlock 5 extra moments for each step. Step 4, which is not yet done, is excluded, as this is one long moment instead.
After finishing the moments, you can choose to end the summer and play through the ending moment of that step. Then you will be placed into the next step, to restart the process.

CUSTOMIZATION:
At the start of the game, and after every step, you can customize your character, the MC. While your MC isn't shown throughout the game and does not have their own sprites, the way you customize it does make a difference. The characters in the game will mention parts of how you look on various occasions, and it overall allows you to make the MC look exactly how you wish. During some steps you can also decide on your height, alongside your gender. You can even decide to transition between genders during the game. Overall, the game has so many customization options that you are always able to change the MC as you see fit. There is also the "Voiced Names" DLC, which is free, and allows you to pick from a list of names that will be said by Cove throughout the game! There's a long list of options, so there's a high chance the name you want is in there.

Alongside yourself, you are also able to customize Cove! This is available starting from Step 2. You are able to change his hairstyle and outfit, alongside his accessories. You can also choose to change his personality, which ranges from Warm - Cold and Studious - Sporty. Cove's personality depends on the choices you make, but you are always able to change it manually after each step if you want a specific one.

I could write an entire essay about how much I love this game, but that would take too much time.. I can't keep Cove waiting that long. The game is free, try it out! It's very much worth it, if you ask me.

TL;DR
Cove steals your heart and keeps pulling you in for more, I cannot stop.

I didn't realize until the end how much impact my choices had. Jesus christ, everything moves waaaay faster near the end of the game.
From what I've seen most visual novels have very similar endings, where your choices don't make much of a difference, but this isn't like that. Take a wrong staircasr and one of the characters might well end up dead.

The story is very well written and I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys visual novels. (Unless you can't handle gore, but I mean, it *is* labeled as horror...)
