This is a temporary review due to the issues the game is having at launch.
Currently cannot access the game through steam (BSG Launcher with previous purchased version works fine). There is currently an error where when you initially attempt to login to your BSG account and link the Steam profile, this causes an error and sends you back to the login splash. The web page cannot be accessed where you would link your Steam account to either, though I have already done so and cannot understand why there is an additional confirmation to link an account that was ALREADY linked. Okay, fine. It's launch day and we know BSG always suffers a little bit on wipe events that are large, and this is clearly the largest to date. I will not fault them for the servers taking a ♥♥♥♥, these things are complicated and even other recent launches have gone through the same struggles with arguable much more funding.

However, launching in BSG and starting the game, I have to say the tutorial is a great addition. The problem is, the first time I accessed it and picked up the tape as a BEAR to listen to the flavor audio log, the game crashed. Upon logging in and re-launching, it threw me back to the beginning of the quest. When I go back to the table to grab the audio log tape again, it is not there. This isn't game breaking or life ruining, just kind of sucks I can't access it because it is bugged.

Again, tutorial great addition. Make it back to the main screen, game crashes when accessing traders, and this is as far as I have gotten. Disappointing, not terribly surprising. I will update this when I am able to access again as I want this to be a living document.

With hundreds of hours cumulative playtime between both Xbox One and PC, I can confidently say that this is not the best Fallout in the series, and might even be the weakest. I am hesitant to say this, ad the gameplay loop does keep me coming back. The new Wastelanders has been a breath of fresh air so to speak for a god awful launch and subsequent year of lackluster content. It feels like the games is finally complete... and that's a PROBLEM.

Other than what I am assuming are Steam related crashes, the latest release is fine, but it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

EDIT: One Wasteland

The level scaling has ruined a lot of the enjoyment I was experiencing on my current level character. I am currently lvl 53 and every single fight feels like life or death, no matter the area I am in.
