A fine game, well worth the Octopath title. There's a lot to like here.
Out of the three Octopath titles, this is likely the weakest. Which is probably the best reason to actually start with this title over the others.
Personally, I enjoy the mechanics of these games more than the story as all three titles have weak hooks. (with the exception of a few OT2 characters)

Characters are flat, standard good vs evil story.
Mechanics open up around the 20 hour mark, and it satisfying once you can actually start min/maxxing.
Not unlike the first Octopath.
I haven't encountered these audio issues being mentioned personally, So i cannot speak to them. I'm using speakers rather than a headset so maybe its just not as prominent.

Since this was more a chance to get finish a Gatcha game and get us some more octopath while we wait for a proper third entry I will gladly support it.
Have some fun with the battle system, collect some cool characters, earn some cool skills to and create you perfect team. Simple and effective.

Clearly it's me, as others perform well but i can't seem to get with the gunplay.
Not a bad game, I just prefer the feeling of BF 2042

I fun game! While i would say I enjoy the game play of the sequel a bit more, being a more fluid overall.
The increased depth of the original is where it really shines!

Lots of systems. Most are shallow and tedious. (the crystal system) Used the same 4 party members for most of the game. its pretty easy to just brute force any gimmicks they throw your way.
It was mostly enjoyable, the story was fun and can get surprisingly dark. It starts to fall apart towards the last act.

Still debating if its worth getting all the achievements as combat gets very tiresome.

Bought this game on release to play with friends but dropped it after I lost my save.
Picking it back up recently playing solo and its solid.
Very pretty but I personally find the first few hours quite slow.
Some great music and pretty fun toys if you can stick it out.

Still very clumsy. However the bf portal alone Made it worth the $10 Sale price.
Pick it up on sale and don't take it too seriously.

A great place to start if you want to witness the glory that is Nep.
