Calamity.

The price of freedom is steep

Gave me the same sense of freedom and amazement that I got as a kid from Treyarch's Spider-Man 2 on PS2

Being a fan of the Metal Gear series my whole life, I figured this would be fun for a bit of a chuckle and see just how much Metal Gear could be put into a game without being slapped with a cease & desist. What I got instead was a fully fleshed out game and while it does nail the Metal Gear feel, it's also unique in its own right.

Pros:

• The combination system and item use in general is great.
  
• The storytelling method of everything being built around what Jesse remembers makes for some hilarious moments.
  
• The humor doesn't just cater to Metal Gear fans. It references other games and media as well. There's something in it for everyone.
  
• Being given choices on how some things go can either make the game easier or more difficult while also adding more replay value.
  
• The soundtrack is great, with a mix of familiar (there are tributes to The A-Team and Benny Hill) and new sounds, all of which mesh together and fit pretty well.

Cons:

• Jesse Fox was arrested for a crime he didn't commit.

This is one of my favorite games of 2021 and one of the best parody games I've ever played.

KIRYU-CHAN!

Played it so much that my controller's A button feels worn out and the Y button gets stuck if I hold it down for any length of time to the point where I have to take the controller apart and push it back up. I look forward to spending 50 more hours on this game once I get a replacement controller

EDIT: A little over 100 hours in, finished DMD, found most collectibles, bought all the moves except for the expensive taunts, did pretty well on bloody palace... My data's been completely wiped after having to replace a hard drive and not realizing steam cloud was disabled on my account. Guess I'm going through everything again. Looks like this is gonna be one hell of a party.

Great developers, great community, great game, all for the low price of your soul.

If you really need a review for this game, you haven't seen any of the videos on youtube, which you should probably go do.

Good way to unwind or kill some time. If you buy this, get at least 1 more copy for a friend. It's not as fun going against bots or random people through matchmaking.

The game may be free, but you'll need to pay if you want more building materials, though you'll be able to get more as you play more matches. Despite that, the game is pretty good even without paying. If you've ever played Kingdom Hearts, building your vehicle is basically the same as building a gummi ship. The gameplay itself is good as long as you know what you're doing when you build your vehicle. If you're not careful, you can end up falling over and calling for Life Alert the entire match.
