Another incredible instalment to the Dying Light series, building upon and polishing the mechanics of the previous, In addition a riveting story and welcomed return of the pivotal Kyle Crane of Dying Light 1. Doesn't iterate many new things but if you wanted my dying light then this will more that satisfy you.

Slow motion dismemberment !

A triumphant return to it's series' horror/survival roots with a newly intergrated perspective that breathes fresh air into the series' gameplay and approach whilst feeling somewhat similar to its the first predeccesor, Resident Evil 1. The story is very much more in a contained sense of approach, instead of Resident Evil 6's bombastic world tour killfest we are instead presented with a more personal story of one man's survival through the protagonist, Ethan and his journey to rescue his wife and survive the horrors of the Baker Estate. I feel that the characters themselves are well produced with Ethan shown as an average citizen and not some secret agent and soldier, this is evidence in the gameplay through his limited fighting cabability with only the basic knowledge of firearms and chemistry to get by, each encounter whether it be with the invincible Bakers or the 'Molded' feel intense, this added with the scarcity of items such as herbs and ammo, in the earlier chapters, really add to the tension of the , sometimes, random encounters. When you're not fighting Molded or holding off in a boss fight against the Bakers you will be engaging in another popular features that return to this installment, puzzles, whether this be elaborate 'Saw-like' scenarios or moving objects to meet a pattern or recreate a shadow of an image. The antagonists are where the story truly shines each have their own individual powers and personality, the story somehow makes players feel sympathy for the psychotic murderous Baker family through story development that I will leave for you the reader to find out for yourself. To conclude I believe that Resident Evil 7 is a positive yet enjoyably different approach to the Resident Evil series that I believe brings back relevancy to its series' original genre and old and new fans of the series will most likely enjoy.

I can't even start the game, apparently when launching it is unable to proceed past a window stating due to an issue with "Skylake CPU's", however on further inspection shows an issue with Windows 10 and the game's DRM ,Securom. I have been unable to play it and had an even harder time finding a soultion to this, leaving the game currently unplayable. I believe its deplorable firstly that Atari and Eden games left this game in its shockingly broken, and in my case unplayable, conditions and two that Steam allowed this to be sold in said condition. My regret is buying this off G2A and not being able to refund this useless software.
