If you are expecting a Paradox game set in current times, this is not the game for you.

If you just want a good, fun game, then this might be for you. It's not as complicated as some other games, sure, but it's great in what it does. A lot of the negative reviews are just people blaming the game for mechanics they didn't fully understand. If you are willing to give this a shot and to not blame the game for your mistakes, you'll probably have fun. A lot of fun.

This shouldn't be a paid game. It's got literally zero (0) depth and the only progression there is is unlocking new aesthetical changes for your console (most of which are fairly ugly). The gameplay itself is also not that fun, to be honest.

I wouldn't buy this.
If you have to buy it, wait till it's like 50 cents or less, because you'll have more fun throwing your coin around anyways.

I can not understand why this game got so much praise.
The gameplay is ♥♥♥♥, almost only luck based. There's only maybe ten attacks in the whole game you can dodge, the rest is just having the luck of standing in the right spot at the right time because the little heart moves slow as ♥♥♥♥. Oh and every time you day there is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 5 seconds long cutscene.
The story is one of the most unoriginal things ever and at times it reaches nonsense.
The characters are as deep as a puddle.
Music is inconsistent, there are quite some great pieces along with some ♥♥♥♥ stuff.
Pixelart is mostly ♥♥♥♥, but there are a few good pieces in there.

Don't fall for this meme of a game.

Hacknet is a really great game. When you play it on fullscreen you really feel like a hacker. You can use the GUI but the command line is way cooler and more powerful if you take the time to learn it, just like in real life. It also uses UNIX commands so you are basically learning some basic syntax, which is nice.
It's a game that will make you use your head, so be prepared for it.
It's a bit short (around 4 hours playtime to beat it), but it's not really a flaw since I believe that it would get pretty repetitive after a while.
Did I mention it's been made by only one person? Yup.
Totally worth the price, especially if on sale.

This game sounds super cool right? Shooting baddies and funny stuff! Too bad it's boring as ♥♥♥♥. The characters are really boring and they move so slow. You can't even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jump.
Also there are no checkpoints so every time you die you have to replay the whole level. Pixel art is also on the bad side of the spectrum.
Not worth buying for any price.

This game is not a masterpiece, but is fun. It's not a game you will be able to play for hours on end, personally I enjoy it one or two missions at a time. The destruction and explosions are really fun, but the screen gets way too cluttered at times, which will lead to unavoidable deaths. Not worth the full price but if you have some money to spare during a sale, go for it.

Well, there's not much to say about Shovel Knight. It's an awesome game with awesome art, awesome soundtrack and awesome control. It's a masterpiece. Definitely worth buying.

One of the best, if not the best, roguelikes ever made. If you like a challenge, this game is for you.
The only flaw is that it can get a bit repetitive after a while, but it's still a great game and it gives great satisfaction.
