So, being honest, this feels more like a school project for a game design class, rather than a full game. It lacks polish; but it's also kind of pleasantly simple. Sometimes it's nice to just relax and burn through something quick and easy - to get back to the basics. For two bucks, it's not a bad way to spend twenty minutes.

Also, no kidding you will earn 1600 achievements in under half an hour.

A fantastic kinetic novel that really breaks the mold.

It was such a refreshing game! Everything I watch/play now with anime style has become so un-creative, pullling the same stock character types into the same scenarios and using the same jokes over and over. This game defies that trend, and is the first truly creative anime game I've played in a while. Not just because of the cyclops thing, but because the characters don't fall into the same personality tropes you see everywhere else. Really nice to see something unique again.

And yeah, the main girl is absolutely adorable.

This game supremely succeeds at capturing the "attitude" of the classic AD2000 stories, and especially Judge Dredd himself. It is always satisfying to hand out ridiculous punishment for the slightest infractions. Really made me feel like "I Am The Law." Plus, it has a much larger supporting cast than you get with either movie, which gives you more insight into the depraved denizens of Mega City One, and why a man like Judge Dredd is necessary there.

I know a lot of people sour on the idea of a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure novel as a game, but I have to say I really see it as an improvement over the original format. I used to play these games when they were printed in these outdated things called "books." It was terrible. You had to waste time looking for the right pages, there was the constant threat of spoilers if you saw something while flipping through, and you were always at risk of life-threatening paper cuts. This digital format eliminates all that and gets right to the storytelling.
Plus it adds in ambient music to help enhance the mood over what you'd get from a book.
On top of that, gamebooks like this needed dice, and I always used to read them in a place that was unsuited for rolling dice, like my big comfy chair - so the dice never had anywhere to lie flat. With the digital format, that's no longer a concern. It's great.
Add onto there Steam achievements and trading cards, and you've got yourself a fun couple of hours.

I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys Judge Dredd, cyperpunk worlds, choose-your-own-adventures, or just immersive writing.

I liked this game for what it was: a virtual version of an old Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book. I used to love those books when I was a kid, and this one is pretty typical of the genre. Well, other than the fact that this was clearly targeted at young girls. Not being a young girl, I had some trouble connecting with the characters and their relationships and whatnot; but I thought the descriptive text was very well done. Combined with the attractive artwork, it made for a pretty immersive read.
As long as you keep in mind that you're reading an interactive book and not playing a text-heavy game (and don't mind every path leading to romance) this will deliver.
Plus, I got what I wanted out of a Steam title: achievements and trading cards.
