I installed this because it’s on Steam and I assumed it would be “safe enough.”
That assumption almost cost me my system.

After letting Driver Booster update drivers (even using the free update feature), my laptop crashed into a boot loop, triggered BitLocker recovery, and failed to start Windows. I was forced into Automatic Repair and had to rely on System Restore to recover the system.

To be clear:

* This wasn’t a game crash
* This wasn’t a performance issue
* This was a system-level failure caused by driver updates

Games stress hardware. This software touches critical drivers (storage, chipset, TPM, etc.). One bad update and Windows may not boot.

Yes, I recovered my system.
But many users would panic and reinstall Windows, losing time and data.

Important warning to others:

* Steam being the platform does NOT make system utilities safe
* Driver updaters can break a perfectly working system
* Modern Windows does not need third-party driver updater tools

If you know exactly what you’re doing and accept the risk, that’s your call.
But for most users: this software introduces more danger than benefit.

I strongly recommend sticking to:

* Windows Update
* Manufacturer drivers (HP / Dell / Lenovo / Intel / AMD)
