In the Old World, she was known as MSA-209 HUA. She fled a Honkai attack in her hometown and was found by HIMEKO (the previous incarnation of Murata Himeko). HIMEKO, a soldier of Fire Moth, recruited her into the fifth squad. After some time, HIMEKO was corrupted by the Honkai and turned into the 7th Lawmaker. HUA was the only survivor of the 7th Lawmaker's first emergence.

As she was the sole survivor of her squad, HUA was placed in a makeshift squad of sorts, dispatched to kill some low-level Honkai beasts in Oceania. The aim of the mission was to test Prof. MEI's newest weapon, the mass-produced 10th God Key. Unknown to them, the Honkai beast they were dispatched to kill was Ganesha, a King-tier Honkai beast.

In the battle, all of the squad members except for HUA were killed, while scientists observed them from the lab. Once again, HUA was the sole survivor of her squad. Motivated by HIMEKO's words to her in the past, HUA was able to utilise the 10th God Key, morphing it into the Fists of Taixu.

Later on, Prof. Mei implanted stigmata in HUA, along with Nuwa and Fuxi. They were one of the few survivors of the Old World. HUA became immortal, though Nuwa and Fuxi did not.
