First game was a masterpiece. Throwing more money into the development of this one was a bad idea. The world feels empty, everything is so easy you can practically play with your eyes closed. Hardcore mode is an utter joke, it just removes UI elements, does not make the game harder. You can easily max out everything in the first quarter of the game. You can get every single perk in the game as you level up, so you dont have to make a meaningful decision about your build. The reviewers who love this game SO much are clearly Disney adults or Discord mods.

I did not like this game. It felt to me like a game that should have come out around the time of Civ 4, it feels too late to be good.
It doesn't seem to have the depth needed to hold attention for long-- a fairly shallow game where the considerations you need to make for your colony are more of annoyances rather than actual engaging gameplay where you have to make quick and impactful decisions.

I played 5 missions, I felt very very hemmed in compared to the last two games, which felt very open and immersive.

You know how there's an invisible wall around every map in video games? And there are parts that look like you can go through, but there's an invisible wall stopping you? This game has that invisible wall spider-webbing through most levels, limiting choices, where in the last title everything was interactable

I love very hard games. Vermintide II is the best game ever made IMO. The feeling of accomplishment is a real rush when you emerge victorious from a heart-pounding fight.
This game is hard in the wrong ways. The melee combat is fun but ranged enemies make it extremely unfun. It is often impossible to clutch the game when your team goes down, even if you are excellent, because of the ranged enemies.

Fighting 70 zombies and big armored maulers? Well 15 shotgunners just spawned and are blasting you to smithereens with 15 simultaneous shots through their allies. Sorry bucko! You can clear that entire horde by yourself (because the melee is easy) but if you have to go into a room with 10 shrimpy ranged units, theres a decent chance they will toast you no matter how good you are if you're out of ammo.

Also the game has this weird dichotomy where it is very hard to survive if you arent in coherence with your squad, BUT its laid out like a looter shooter. Since the missions are procedurally generated, you have to search every single inch of every map to find the books (items that give huge xp bonus) which is really boring after a hundred missions -_-.

Maybe this game is good for people who don't want to tryhard and play competitively, but I want to run true solo (no bots) and the game is too skewed in difficulty for that right now.

I love this game. Although it is intimidating to learn the basics, if you join custom duel servers and ask around there will be great people to teach you. In my opinion this is a mandatory endeavor.

I LIKE IT ITS A WW1 OR WW2 TYPE MODERN GAME

Paid $60 when this came out. Might as well be called "Glory Kill" since all you do is melee execute almost every single demon in the game for some reason.

I played this game for 46 hours upon release. I loved it. It was one of my favorite tycoon games ever. Then, years later, today I re-installed to play in the evenings. B O O M the game tells me "SIGN IN TO GET FULL ACCESS TO THE GAME AND NEW CONTENT". What? No! I never had to do this before, SKIP. "PLEASE READ AND ACCEPT THE END USER AGREEMENT TO PLAY THE GAME"..........."You do not OWN THIS GAME, YOU ARE ONLY LEASING IT". I repeat, "YOU DO NOT OWN THIS GAME, YOU ARE ONLY LEASING IT." The game that I bought at full price when it was still in development. I don't own it????? on top of that, the game collects your data, your software usage, play style etc. This is a real middle finger at the players. I am so sad that the developers have fallen this far, a game once without flaw now has an invasive and insulting EULA at the beginning and I have to log in (WHY DO I HAVE TO LOG IN BY THE WAY???? it's an exclusively single player game!!! F off.) just to play.


EDIT: Almost a year after this review and it's still the only game I have given a negative review to.

This game is fantastic. At first I thought it wasn't all that fun, I played as a hacker, got to run around hacking fridges and running them through prison walls, letting prisoners escape, the usual stuff. Then I unlocked the Vampire class. My whole world changed. Started bribing police to look the other way when I suck Crepe or Blahd gang member's blood in their holding cell. Then the whole game exploded when I started messing with modifiers. Now everyone has a rocket launcher and fires them at me on sight. I can play as a gorilla, or a cannibal, or a scientist or a gang member, or a investment banker (who LOVES cocaine) or a comedian or all kinds of things. I need to find friends to play this with though...........this game gets a 9/10 from me, and Im sure it will be a 10 when they release the new zones and seed options
...PS I'm so alone please release me from this hell.
