Portal is NOT a replacement for server browser. Portal doesn't even work to begin with.

Get the basics rights. the gun play is fun and good, but there is to little in it. To few vehicles, to small maps, no proper server browser. impossible for 5+ friends to play together.

The engine isn't bad, but the decisions made are.

It has potential and can probably serve as a decent base for mods and further stuff but for now it is lacking.

Problems:
To many I, II, III upgrade/research systems. Arbitary gain +5% to system X is lackluster and very poor both mechanicwise and does't make sense story wise.
The whole marketplace just doesn't make sense. You earn a salary where you buy your mechs when assigned as a military unit during an invasion? Also nvm the free mechs you get when you "level up" and unlock chassises.
The story is poorly written. If you have a set team you need to build some engagement with them. I don't care about any member of my star. What motivates them etc? This is def subjective, but if the entire point of this game was to make a more campaign/story version of MW, it delivers on it poorly.
Way to many story elements you just don't understand. You capture fanatic person x and all of the sudden you want to spare him and he gives intels? Euhm ok sure. Misson z was for some wierd reason a setup so they could spring a prisoner? What? which prisoner? Ehh ok, sure if you say so. We are halting an invasion because one pirate on one world apparently has millions of mechs to stop a whole clan for weeks?
Pretty much no choices making it feel very very scripted.
All this makes replayability low to very low.

Mechanically also the difference in chassis/weapon power is way to big. (playing on normal) Some missions are easy enough you could field pretty much anything. Some missions not so. Had to google a few good fittings (small laser Nova omg) and all of the sudden the hardest mission turned pretty easy. Games that force you into cookie cutter setups are badly designed. It removes so much flexibility. Now some weapons are so bad they make many missions pretty much impossible. And sure, if you are a hardcore mechwarrior, maybee you know that stuff and on expert difficulty then ye sure.
