So much more to this game than what I expected. The mystery of the island is engrossing, and unfolds with a slow burning tension. The AI is fantastic in the way that it stalks you, prods you, intimidates you, and traps you. I found myself making my own maps and building multiple bases for peace of mind in case I got stranded somewhere strange when night fell.

This game deserves a film adaption. It is the best Science Fiction I have experienced in my life. The voice acting is impeccible, the themes and concepts are worth hours of thought, and the fear is real.

Blast Pumas and Bears in the face with hollow point bullets, just like the original developers intended.

I'm coming from a dozen playthroughs of RE 2 and 4, arguably the bread winners of classic and modern RE.

Although it felt slightly staged, it was still organically spooky and desperate. The RE Engine is amazing; it feels fresh and disturbingly realistic.

The locations in RE 5 and 6 seemed generic and unimportant, but this demo house is the real deal; very detailed and personal. I'm not sure if they can maintain this sense of dread throughout the whole game, but if they do, they'll be setting the bar for modern horror games exceptionally high.
