It's never been easy to acquire one, be it legal or not in legal manners you still have to go through a very thorough process to have one legally, as for the other side being against the law, maybe not as much if they know the "right people", and even so, complications could still arise from there since some have been known to be the government themselves staging a setup.

its not about guns being banned, its about being so easy to aquire one
you dont need to do training, you dont need to spend months in the army, you just gotta be an everyday person

Criminals could care less about the law so having the guns banned from those who aren't that could defend themselves from said criminals would not help at all, there's been videos of failed robberies due to a citizen owning a firearm to stop a situation before it gets work.

I believe if there was a citizen however that were intentionally abusing their rights to own a firearm, I'm sure they're going to be met with a hefty charge and/or sent to the prison for a while, along with their rights revoked, or given notice/warning about it.

It is, but is also completely unreliable and dysfunctional (there's a story on vietnam of how soldiers said it kills them more than it actually helps them), it would help if you had examples and proof of people who own such a terrible gun especially in this current time, and by law people in the US can't really own a weapon that has burst and/or automatic capabilities as far as I know, and if said person actually owns it, the police is definitely gonna want to talk to them.
