Keep in mind that this isn't a horror game, like people may have told you. It's more of a surreal game. It is also NOT a reference to a certain indie RPG game, as this was made in 2004 by a Japanese developer.

This is a very unique experience in comparison to most other games. In this game, you play as a little girl, Madotsuki, who shuts herself in her own apartment and is capable of making some really interesting dreams.
While in the dream world, you will come across many, many different worlds. You might even find paths to more worlds as you explore certain ones. And they are all as surreal as it gets.
There are several important items you must get which are called Effects, that can be found spread out in each world. You may have to dig real deep for some of them. Effects are special items that can transform Madotsuki, whether it's as a mere cosmetic, or it is efficient in doing something Madotsuki can't normally do, like seeing in the dark, or moving faster than normal.

There is another thing that can be said about this game... there is no dialogue. Meaning, the game does not directly tell you any form of a story. However, given that the whole game takes place in a dream 90% of the time, and with all the imagery that goes around in each world, the game happily allows you to make your own interpretations of what the story may be.

I would honestly recommend this game, while rating it, uh, 20/10, because I'm bad at rating things. Not only is it really interesting and unique as a game, but it's also free, which is always nice. Get it yourself and take a look around every nook and cranny within the world of dreams... see what you can find.
