Starts slower than the first one but after about 3-4 hours the fun factor kicks into max gear. Had to set alarms to stop myself playing this all day.

Runs perfectly on steam deck!

I really enjoyed my first run of the game. It took me about 20 hours including time spent on the demo that carried over - which was an awesome move by the dev btw.

I have a couple of cons, but starting with the positives, probably the best thing about the game is the characters. They're all so well done and even some of the bigger side characters are brimming with personality. I found the story really fun and the ending really caught me by surprise, the dialogue is mostly (see below) great and the combat is really well thought out. The visuals and music are also really nice.

Aside from (d)equipping items, which is an absolute nightmare on the steam deck, my biggest issue is with the disconnect between what the game lets you do and what the dialogue options let you say. It's fine in Day 1, but in Days 2+3 you can find things out, get places etc., that open no new dialogue options until you complete some of the more "central" parts of the story progression. This makes it feel like despite being able to do most things in a non-linear way, the dialogue is designed around you doing things in a mostly linear-way. This mostly sorts itself out by Day 4 but was really frustrating at times when I was constantly thinking "yeah but I've already done this" or "why can't I mention this" in the dialogue options.

That being said, for a really small team working on this for the first time, the amount of agency given to the player without any really weird immersion breaking things happening is tremendous, and I look forward to playing another run and whatever the dev makes next!

I could write a long review about the game.... or I could just mention the fact PC Gamer rated it higher than the Witcher 3, widely regarded as one of the best games ever, and Red Dead Redemption 2 for games to play in 2020 (see link).

If you're willing to spend ages reading and thinking things through then play this. it's like someone took long live the Queen and Harry Potter then added a ridiculous amount of content to it. Character creation took 20 minutes and the menu is really confusing and doesn't give you a tutorial (to the best of my knowledge).

Absolutely amazing game. Stunning visuals and a very Assassin's Creed like plot. It reminds me most of AC Brotherhood in the ways the sidequests are based. If you enjoyed taking over Rome then you'll enjoy this. The city feels like a more refined version of Paris from AC unity so that's nice as well. So far I've conquered London and have completed most of the associate missions and I've only just finished sequence 5 (I did 8 too) and my level is 10 so you really don't have to progress the story much to be able to do all the side missions. A step in the right direction for Ubisoft!

This is a brilliant game, did NG in 38 hours (all bosses and side quests, no dlc) and it's an amazing game. Not as challenging or as punishing as dark souls 1 but the immersion is better. To get all the references and to enjoy it to its fullest play ds1. Dark souls 2 is a good shout too but it's really easy. The graphics are great and the character design is extraordinary. Multiplayer is so much better now too with really easy ways to connect to friends.

League is better.

Took me 27hours 45 minutes to 'speed run' with about 3 hours spent being lost/ stuck on boss(es). Still quite a bit of side stuff to do and achievements to get but coming from dark souls 1 this was fairly relaxing. Absolutely stunning graphics. If you played (and by played I mean actually got far) DS1 then this might seems a bit easy. For a challenge don't pick mage or cleric. The game seems totally different, which in my opinion was really nice. Even down to the bosses very little of it felt like ds1 and more felt like its own original game. Sadly however the map is extremely linear, from Majula go 2 directions and they branch out into boss areas and don't connect like they did in ds1. I still rate it highly and can't wait to pick up ds3 in sales.

This game is amazing but plz play with a controller until you've done it once. If you don't there's a 50/50 chance you will ♥♥♥. 10/10 I cri everytiem.
