After unlocking just a few countries it becomes obvious that the plane and airport sizes you get by default are so inadequate that they're basically unworkable. Good luck updating literally everything right when you open routes. You can avoid the hastle if you get lucky with a random permanent increase in new aircraft or new airport level, until you can't because by the time you need it, they cost way, way more money than you can realistically spend at that point.

And then there's the visual differences in airport and plane levels. Much of the time it becomes really hard to keep track of because the plane designs and airport icons are so similar between levels that it's very hard to get a good overview of the levels of the infrastructure you have. Now lets say you want to update every plane on a route instead of just one: Well that's nice, you got a button for that when clicking on a route. Good luck clicking on the right route when you have routes that almost entirely overlap eachother.

and then there's the UI: The UI windows, which can't be adjusted in size, take up basically the entire screen and move your position, making it neigh impossible to keep track of anything that's happening while you're adjusting things about a route, plane or airport.

The game does have good bones; it does many other things right such as its colorblind accessibility, the solid gameplay concept and making sure overcrowding is easily visible at a glance. Sadly though, in the end, you end up constantly fighting the game trying to do basic necessary tasks.

I want to like it for the things it does right so badly, but in this case, the aforementioned game & graphic design problems make the game not only frustrating, but at times barely playable at all.

I cannot recommend Fly Corp, not even on sale.

(4/5) - Fun and surprising engaging for how simple it is.

The game provides a fun city building experience where you essentially end up thinking both about how your city will look/work, how your tram network will connect and how you manage your demands. It is surprisingly engaging for it's simplicity, but due to how simple it is it doesn't have much more replay value then a handful of playthroughs. The colours can be a little hard to distinguish sometimes, especially whether or not there are gaps left in your map that you can fill as the background is very similar to your tile colour, but the game counters this by allowing you to fully customise colour palettes. (I've shared my personal preferred palette in the workshop discussion thread for colour palettes.)

Overall, don't expect to get more then about 10-25 hours out of this game, but it very much will satisfy for the time you spend with it. Don't be afraid to grab the game at full price if you want to play it now, rather then later. It is well worth the roughly 2,50€.

Even after reading all the reviews, and playing the demo, this game wasn't what I expected it to be and I ended up refunding it with very mixed feelings about it.

Don't get me wrong; the ethical dillemas it starts of presenting are fairly fun, but then if it was just about these, that could've essentially been done on a webpage. It was about more. The game tells a story and tries to be funny with a sarcastic commentator that dislikes every decision you make, which is lovely, and yet...

== Warning for spoilers ahead ==

There lies the problem. You make decisions in this game that have incredibly grave moral and ethical implications, yet you have essentially no control over where the story actually goes, while at the same time making you feel you do have that impact, making it all the more disappointing when you end up realising you really don't in any substantial way, which if it hadn't happened anywhere before the last chapter, will happen very abruptly when you reach it and the story is abruptly ended to just take you into an abrupt, drugged up set of fantasy questions that reframe common day to day or culturally/politically relevant questions into the format of the game.

All of this makes the game fall in this weird gap between being that far-too-long, but unusually interesting webpage you visit once to pass that unusually quiet evening, and a game where a player can feel in control, and may get notable additional value over being on that hypothetical webpage, and maybe even some replay value, and keeping that in mind it is just absolutely not worth the over-10€ price that is being asked for it.

== All in all my conclusion can be summarised as follows: ==
While the sassy voiceover was great, the game overall left me feeling disappointed, and that feeling was exacerbated by the steep price. I rate the game 2/5, I do not recommend buying it, not even on sale.

== Specific comment regarding the developer: ==
I am not impressed with the developers comment about how the price of this game compares "favourably with time spent at the cinema". - The problem here isn't asking this price for a game of this length, (even if this is fairly steep for such a short game when compared to the pricing of games with comparable playime,) It is asking this price for what this game does, where it falls short in what it's trying to do/how it's presented, how it compares to free to acces websites that talk about these same ethical dillemmas in interesting ways and allow you to compare choices that it has to set itself apart from, and how it compares in quality in general to games of comparable length that dó potentially warrant such a pricetag.

This response to these critiques from the developer comes across as incredibly tonedeaf, as it places the problem behind the critique with the price with the customers by making it sound as if they just don't understand the comparative value of the money they are spanding, rather then the developer acknowledging why people might not value the game at the price he's setting it at.

As a long time fan of the transport tycoon games genre, and someone who followed the games' development for a long time before release, this game did not meet my expectations:

I am personally someone who very much enjoys network design and the game just did not offer what I expected nor hoped for on that aspect: It instead focusses very heavily on micromanagement of vehicles and the game sadly turns into mind-numbingly adding routes with little planning quite quickly. As others have pointed out as well, the game also doesn't really scale well to playing on larger areas, quickly turning into a messy routespamming quest or extreme micromanagement depending on how you play, and neither of which really contribute to an enjoyable experience.

The game certainly has potential, but to me it's not enjoyable in it's current state.

Positives:
+ Real world map gameplay gives way to creative network ideas for longer distance transport in various areas of the world.
+ The game contains a wide selection of vehicles to choose from with varied stats.

Negatives:
- There is very little actual strategy involved with the game. It is incredibly linear.
- There's really nothing related to actually planning your networks in an effective way in this game: It boils down to drawing lines between individual cities (or sometimes city pairs) that have some level of demand, with the vehicle type and comfort suitable for it, to eachother: No exchanges, no way to really make your networks efficient by good planning of routes.
- There is little replay value and larger maps quickly turn into a click-click-repeat gameplay experience.
- Various aspects of the game such as the way routing is displayed and the lack of ability to name and sort lines can quickly work against you when your network has a lot of lines passing through one area, but also for example the lack of a vehicle spacing feature meaning you can't really make your lines all that efficient: As passengers generate continuously but vehicles don't leave in a spread fashion you often get into situations where you can't get anywhere near to the potential a line has.

In it's current state I'd rate the game a 2/5: As much as it pains me to say with how kind the developers are and how they seem very involved with he community and taking suggestions in how to continue developing the game, I cannot recommend it.

Years after it's initial release this game still comes around now and again for me just to sit back, relax and challenge myself at the same time. Keeping your civilisation alive through the different difficulties isn't easy.

-Listened to the queen
-Got kidnapped
-Survived to find out the queen was evil
-Killed the queen when she gave birth
-That resulted in ending up on 1/2 Army points
-Got 3 cards giving me army points back in a row
-Survived to reign 49 years.

3 Euro is nothing for this game. Go get it.
