Welcome to Helldivers! Where the devs value realism above all else, with shining examples such as:
-Enemies shooting through walls, terrain, and their own bodies.
-Enemies freely passing through the bodies of other enemies to charge you down.
-Enemies phasing through walls and terrain, then instantly calling for reinforcements.
-Enemies freely phasing and shooting through the corpses of other enemies, while those same corpses block all of your shots.
-Excessive spawn rates of the toughest, tankiest, and deadliest enemy units.
-Enemy spawns out of thin air 20 feet in front of you (especially the largest enemy units).
-Enemies scaling 90 degree inclines like they're mountain goats seeking your salt.
-Enemy reinforcements dropping on top of mountains with perfect line of sight to everything in a mile radius.
-Objective terminals landing 30 feet in the air, softlocking missions.

But not to worry! In order to maintain the above points of realism, the glorious devs have shown the same logic of realism towards our own Helldivers! Such as:
-Constant ragdolling from an endless supply of explosive/burst enemies.
-Constant cancelling out of healing and reloading actions due to minor terrain inclines or flinching.
-Constant bouncing of stratagem balls off of clear and flat ground.
-Constant terrain and obstacle hitboxes extending beyond their visual size and blocking your shots.
-Forced hellpod steering dropping players into death pits.
-Sniper and assault rifle weapons fire large caliber bullets with less damage and/or penetration than small caliber pistols.
-Players just falling over and dying to no apparent cause (multiple instances with video evidence recently).
-Dozens of near-useless equipment in warbonds.
-If something new is actually competent, devs will nerf an aspect from all sources to bring the one good thing in line.
--Example 1: newly released Coyote AR is found to be good, and has fire DoT. Response is to nerf all sources of fire, harming flame throwers for no reason.
--Example 2: newly released Tank is found to resist explosions. Response is to buff ALL ENEMY EXPLOSIVE DAMAGE TO ALL EQUIPMENT, harming all sentries, emplacements, and mechs to nerf one item.
-An 'interesting' galaxy-wide war strategy system, where a total playerbase of 4 people has the same impact as 200,000 people.
-Developers leaving these issues in the game for nearly 2 years now, calling them features, and then blaming the players for when they fail a Major Order.
-Patch notes with hidden changes and nerfs and dozens of glaring easily-noticable bugs that SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTICED IF ANY PLAYTESTING WAS DONE.

And all is not lost! The game has such LOVELY playerbase excusing all of the above issues with the 98423845525th comment of "just lower the difficulty 5head" and "haha now face the wall". Ha ha! So funny and constructive!

And coupled with developers so spectacularly out of touch with the playerbase, I'm amazed this game has this large of a player count. Don't forget that all developer communication is in the general channel of their Discord server, instead of... I don't know... their forums? their social media pages? THE STEAM COMMUNITY PAGE?

All in all, save your money, time, sanity, and braincells by avoiding this game. There's so much potential in this game, yet it is squandered and ruined time and time and time again. I've never had a game draw me in so much, then stomp that love in the dirt repeatedly for two years. Each time I hope it has changed for the better, the developers show they have learned nothing from past lessons and mistakes.
