Update that came with this DLC broke many mechanics and introduced graphical glitches. Loader's grapple speed and Mercenary's dash are tied to framerate of all things. Wouldn't expect anything more from Gearbox tbh

After playing through every game in this collection and suffering from an immense case of wondrous joy, I can lift the nostalgia goggles off and actually say that this package is great on its own, but clearly rushed (as per the quota of most Sonic games released during the blue bastard's lifetime). Here's some noteworthy/patch-worthy points:
-The music sounds compressed as hell
-The only graphical filter available is an "anti-aliasing" effect that makes the games blurry
-There's weird physics issues in some instances, especially in Sonic 3
-The DLC should have been included in the base game
-The song names for Chaotix tracks are mixed up and incorrect

I could nerd about how much I actually loved playing through it all, but that's not exactly gonna help much with the issues. I see no hope in SEGA anymore, but in the off chance they strike a deal and get the games fixed up + release some patches, this collection will definitely be the de facto way of playing these gems.

After going through Lunatic/Pointdevice and Extra/Pointdevice (using a mod), I can safely say that this game is a perfect benchmark for people who want to get into the series. Do you want to dedicate a lot of time to genuinely get better at pattern recognition, movement, and a lot of other skills? If so, then there's no better starting point. It'll kick you when you're down, but I'm sure some of you like that stuff.
