Game is really rough currently. Survival elements are missing or not fully thought out, but if you don't get food/drink you die.

I played the game in an earlier version and I had a good time, but I played for a few hours recently and had a really bad time.

If you're here for the basebuilding and survival I would say move on, if you're here for PvP I don't have an opinion on it.

I really enjoyed the trailer and purchased the game based on that and skimming a few reviews that all said "Subnautica in space"

I can see how they would get Subnautica vibes from this game, but its a bit more directionless at the beginning and not as much to do or look at. I had a lot of trouble with what I am supposed to do next as it appeared I couldn't get to any of the "islands" of wreckage with what little oxygen I had available.

I ended up requesting a refund because I didn't want to have to basically trial and error my way through the game. Meaning go to one "island" of wreckage. Nothing here, back to the starter ship to refill oxygen. Rinse Repeat.

play this game only if you want to have a stroke... and i don't mean the good kind ::steamsally

I prefer to play games using a mouse and keyboard and having the mouse Y axis inverted. I couldn't figure it out in the menus, didn't spend that much time on that, but i googled it and it appears its not a feature.

So far I am having a lot of fun with this game.

I am a big fan of Elder Scrolls games and have replayed skyrim a bunch just to give an idea of my tastes.

The largest complaint I have so far (7.4hrs in) is that the save system is making me want to uninstall.

I just had a quest where I had to look for something in a predefined area. I knew the area, and thats all. While looking I was jumped by my first group of bandits. Let me tell you, I MESSED THEM UP. It was so fun to be that dominant with a weapon. Then about 10 min later I find what I'm looking for, but I get jumped by 2 heavily armed dudes that glitch out and kill me no problem. I hit continue and guess what. NONE OF IT EVER HAPPENED. 15 + min of gametime wasted.

Feels Bad Man.

I can't recommend the game in its current state. You can only save your game with an innkeeper, when you sleep, and by getting drunk or advancing the storyline. Garbage system for a game with unforgiving combat.

This game is super fun... when things are going your way.

If you have a group of friends to play with and don't mind losing absolutely everything you've worked on to trolls and what not then this game might be for you.

If you're interested in the crafting and gathering and exploration kind of stuff only then this game is NOT for you.

This review is based off the extremely long alpha period so if they changed something when it was released I do not have that information.

The current trend of releasing games with a retail pricing even though they are "early access" is very troubling.

This game, full of lag issues, bad/lack of optimization, constant crashes, is a prime example of why this practice is harmful to the end user. My computer is above average in terms of specs and I haven't had too many issues with the optimization issues, however, my friends are all having issues with it.

I typically don't write reviews, but after crashing 3 times in a row in a lobby waiting for the game to start I feel like this "Pre-Game" has forced my hand.
