Hollow Knight is a game making masterclass.
It features everything i love about solo video games.

• Immersive, mysterious world. Deep story and backstory unveiled through discovering the game and open to interpretation and research.
  
  
• Exemplary character design. Every NPC has his own strong personnality, backstory and character developement. All are very likeable and have a great and fitting visual appearance.
  
  
• Creative, original & stunningly beautiful art. Each area of the colourful world of Hallownest has its own visual personnality. Hollow Knight's 2d graphisms feel both traditionnal and refreshingly modern.
  
  
• Flawless controls and huge skillcap. Highly satisfying & rewarding gameplay.
  
  
• Perpetual character customization, adding a entire tactical aspect to the skill-based gameplay and allowing each player to approach the game with it's own manner.
  
  
• Incredibly well designed metroidvania world. There are countless possible routes depending on which upgrade you get first, which area you decide to explore and where and when you decide to start backtracking.
  
  
• Very extensible late game. Completing 100% of the game is a very interesting challenge and allows a better understanding of the story. The differents DLCs also add a lot to this.
  
  
• Great replay value. Starting a new game from scratch is highly enjoyable. If you already played a metroidvania before, you know what i'm talking about. Also you will notice lore elements you probably ignored on your first run.
  
  
• I almost forgot music. Very diverse and memorable musical ambiances for each area of the game. Epic boss themes. Moving cinematic themes during the scenaristic scenes. Overall refreshing, fitting and enjoyable music.
  
  
• Special mention for the sound design. Characters and enemies voices and noises are surprising.

Every aspect of the game has an incredible depth to it. Team Cherry's attention for the smallest details is remarquable and unique. If you are a demanding and experienced player, this game is made for you. It is perfect. 10/10.
