It doesn't need another positive review, its reputation precedes itself in a huge way, but I wanted to throw my penny in the fountain.

L4D 2 has, for ten years now, been a tremendously enjoyable experience.
Its characters, enemies and maps are well rounded and designed, they play off one another extremely well in a gameplay loop that somehow never gets tiresome. The gunplay and game modes are fun, straight forward and still active.

And to top it all off, the longevity of this decade-old game has been extended ad infinitum by the modding/workshop community. I've had just as much fun on community-made maps and campaigns as I have in the base game and that says a lot about the quality of the content coming out. The customisation is endless, my girlfriend (who is afraid of zombies) managed to play the entirety of this game by simply modding every enemy into something less frightening. It's just that expansive.
Nothing beats the sensation I get every time I hear "All Star" by Smash Mouth blare through my headphones as Shrek emerges, screaming at my friends and I and throwing Donkeys.

From the old memes of 2009 to the classic reputation it's still enjoying today, L4D 2 is a rich multiplayer experience that paved the way for a decade of 4-person co-op shooters.
At this price it's a steal, but it's a staple in and of itself as one of Valve's best, last proper games before they seemingly threw in the towel. It would be amazing to see a third instalment, but we'll have to wait and see.
