A fun STG/Shmup that's friendly to beginners but has a bit of exciting toys to play with. Not the most difficult game but it makes up for it with just being good fun.

The core revolgear system is fun. A chargeable shot that absorbs bullets and charges up a counter laser with slight invulnerability. Both are satisfying to use. Being able to use the invulnerability to get through patterns or as a pseudo auto-shield gives a bit of decision making though it with the charge rate and that meter also increases by grazing, it is on the easier side of games.

Looks great with charming pixel animation and an amazing soundtrack. With multiple weapon choices with different attack styles, theres a lot of customizability and replay value. Stages are simple but exciting, with great use of the environment. While still basic it plays with typical expectations with a bit of environment play that makes it a bit more than just a typical STG.

Really fun game! Cheap and a great experience with friends.

Plays like an isometric resident evil outbreak. Has more roguelike elements but with far shorter missions. Atmosphere and sound design is fantastic and the game plays fairly smooth even with higher ping.

Currently in early access so its a little barren for content and replayability at the moment but for its price, it's a great cheap romp with the friend pass.

It's just not a fun game. Cool retro like aesthetic but the gameplay is just disappointing. The dinos are pretty braindead and poorly animated. The shooting feels terrible and weightless and the levels aren't that interesting at all.

Everything you expect from a sequel.

The original Marfusha is a very simple twin-stick side scrolling shooter. There wasn't much depth, but what it did, it did well.

Snezhinka is more of the same but better. Marfusha was short with a single campaign without too much variety other than weapons and different enemy types. While Snezhinka does not drastically expand on this, it adds enough new elements from weapons, to environments and upgrade cards to vary up the experience as well as additional scenes when replaying the campaign.
Easy purchase if you want a simple no thrills side scrolling shooter or if you liked the original.

Fun puzzle game about managing your inventory.

Not as great as the first game, a lot more busy work and interface feels clunkier. Having to solve your cache before being able to sell/buy and then resolving your cache is kinda tedious. Recommend trying the first and good if you're willing to look past that.

Top down horde defence shooter with rpg / strategy elements to it. Feels like a souped up flash game.

The Mecha aspect involves being able to customise your character(s) with lots of different modules and weapons. Most of the customisation is just stat bonuses though.

Surprisingly fun but also very jank. Game has a lot of shallow complexity. There many systems on systems that seem like a good idea but ultimately are needlessly confusing. Between the modules, purchasing, crafting, upgrading, combining, desynthesising, upgrades on upgrades... While it doesn't quite harm the game, it feels unnecessary.

A lot of the jank comes from poor UI and translation. Lot of bad typesetting and some annoying UI choices.

Ultimately, a surprisingly fun cheap game with a bit of jank. Not a great polished experience so far, but the downsides aren't that impacting

People say Resident Evil 1 but this actually feels more like a modern twist on Resident Evil Gaiden on the GBA. You run around in the overworld exploring and solving puzzles while combat resolves in a separate first person shooter instance ala House of the Dead.

The game itself is actually quite good. Atmospheric and tense. It's unique feature is its lives system where each character functions as a life to progressively finish the game similar to old Survival Horrors like Sweet Home or Nightmare on Elm Street.

Only downside is really janky kb&m controls that take a bit to get used to.

Pretty much an first person OG Resident Evil fan game with a number of buts. It's a fun cheap romp but just feels incredibly janky to play.

Story wise, it's nothing special but there are a fair number of decent puzzles and environments to go through with good variety of enemies.

The environment is pretty good. Great inspiration from Resident Evil as well as other older games. There is also a unique map system where you're able to (unless you play on easy map mode) manually make notes on your map.

Movement feels meticulously balanced yet weirdly restrictive where you suffer significantly decreased movement speed when strafing, moving backwards, aiming or charging your melee weapon. This makes using Melee a frustrating mess and the other downsides of movement can be circumvented by just doing a quick 180 on the mouse and just walking away.

Aiming doesn't feel great as there's significant aiming penalties unless you stand still and 'focus'. This results in a lot of just moving away, standing for a few seconds to accurately aim and then shoot and repeat. Coupled with the movement quirks, it just doesn't make combat feel that great.

It's a game that's definitely worth a try for fans of the survival horror genre. If you can get past the weird movement and aiming mechanics, this can be a very fun game. If you can't, it doesn't get better.
