Clean sprite work and artstyle, few mechanics that are mainly passive but become more prevalent at higher levels of play, combos are straightforward. 16 vibrant characters with varying degrees of personality flavor on them. Waifu potential is there, ranging from some maid with a Persona, to a tsundere school girl with a wind sword.

Very, very solid anime fighting game published by Arc System Works, the minds behind the Blazblue and Guilty Gear series. Of course, in ASW fashion, there is a sequel ANNOUNCED but there have been no news on it since its announcement in 2015 to my knowledge, so it's safe to buy it now and not regret it when an inevitable sequel comes out.

I would recommend buying it IF you have friends willing to play alongside you, as most of the online community is non-existant or have been playing since the ps3 launch. 30 dollars is a hefty price (Steam game wise) for just a try-it-once game.

Ok, I've played (read: binged) this game long enough, time to put out a real review. This game is DAMN GOOD. All you could ask for in an Action RPG: Multiple classes, customizable companions, multiple armor/weapon sets, satisfying combat, good difficulty.

Capcom got around no multiplayer in a great way with the Pawn system, adding your friends and bringing their pawns on YOUR adventure is so sick. I just wish they got experience in your game, but if your friend also keeps up with their Dogma game, you can just send them away and get more up-to-date versions of them. With the Dark Arisen expansion you get the Eternal Ferrystone, which makes this game a LOT more casual, but cuts out the tedium of running around everywhere in the dark. I appreciate it, if you don't want to fast travel everywhere like in vanilla Dragon's Dogma, don't take it out of your storage.

Bad(?) things about the game: Story. Now, in my opinion, who gives a damn about the story when the gameplay is solid? Put on a video game OST, some death metal, epic music, or hell, even put on some damn Taylor Swift and hack-n-slash at a bunch of goblins, lizards, chimaeras, and so much more. Who cares about what Ser Maximilian wants, mash Enter, take your quests, and follow the red circles. Also the graphics. Yeah, you got me there. It's not pretty. BUT it's not horrible. Look at the screenshots, take it or leave it.

TL;DR - 8.5/10, only can go higher with the influx of mods and such to tweak your experience. Amazing game, if you're on the fence, it was out for Xbox 360/PS3 in 2012, there are lengthy videos of gameplay (and I assume PC gameplay by now), check them out. Trade pawns like they're pokemon. To be honest, the 1.5 point reduction on the review is the removal of the original Main Theme, and there is already a mod for that. So its basically a 10/10. Buy it.

P.S. add me and lets trade pawns

A great contender in the growing pools of the MOBA genre, SMITE is a very fun, action-oriented multiplayer game. The camera view is over the shoulder, 3rd-person, and there are no auto attacks on right clicks like DOTA 2, every single ability excluding some abilities and ultimates have to be aimed and fired, making player skill affect gameplay much more than other MOBAs. A very easy to pick up, hard to master game that is a blast to play with friends.
It is Free to play, sustained from micro-transactions coming from buying cosmetic skins like in League of Legends, but unlike League of Legends, you can get all 70 gods, PLUS all future gods, for $30 USD, which is an amazing deal if you enjoy the game. If you don't want to invest money into the game, you can purchase gods with the in-game currency, as well as having 5 free gods, plus 5 free rotation gods every few weeks. From my experience with League of Legends, SMITE has a much more fair and valuable deal with getting gods/champions to play than the former, but that is just my opinion.
I have sunk over 1600 hours into the game since March 2013 ( http://smite.guru/stats/hr/Aggrosaurus/summary )when it was in Beta, and I plan to keep playing until Hirez shuts it down, hopefully not in the immediate future. It's a MOBA that is unlike the top MOBAs at the moment, and it has a bright future. It's worth AT LEAST trying. 8.5/10

This game is fun as hell. Very fast, very chaotic (almost a bit too chaotic at times, looking at you, Skyhammer players) and also very strategic. All classes are unique with their own style of play, ranging from placing mines in areas to create space and control, or a moving turret with the minigun. Servers are a bit iffy, but when connections are good you will have a good time. However...

Those familiar with the MOBA genre like SMITE and League of Legends will be familiar with the characters (Mercs) going on rotation and being relatively hard to obtain through the in-game currency, requiring hours upon hours of grinding to get enough for one. This is alleviated slightly through Missions, giving a handful of credits (about 500-750) per Mission done, generating new ones every 3 set hours. There are a handful of Mercs so far, 12 as of 6/10/2015, ranging from 30,000 credits to 50,000. Each game gives you about 700 credits, so the grind... the grind is pretty real. Of course, you can buy Mercs!... each individual Merc costing $6 for a 30,000 credit Merc or $10 for a 50,000 credit Merc. The Ultimate Starter Pack gives 5 Mercs plus enough to get another Merc with in-game credits, essentially 5 set Mercs and a Merc of your choosing for $30, plus 2 "Elite cases" which, if you're familiar with CS:GO's chests, you'll know what you're in for. It's not a horrible value, if you're into the game. But, money talks, especially to (based on prior experiences) Nexon, who published the game.

Also, the way Loadouts work. Through cases you can buy for 1,000 credits each, you will get a random card for a random Merc, ranging from Lead to Cobalt. Good luck getting a Cobalt card in a common case. But these cards have different perks, depending on the rarity of the card, up to 3 perks. You CANNOT change the Weapon that your Merc uses. You must find a CARD with the WEAPON you want. So... buy those cases!... Buy those elite cases for the shiny cards!...

I like this game, I want to see it succeed, but I am worried that the real world currency aspect will hold it back. These aren't TF2 hats we're talking about, this is the characters you are able to play. For now, it is a good game as far as gameplay goes, but something could be brewing behind the scenes that could ruin the game for people not looking to Pay-to-win.

It does its job: lets you try the game. 14 days is plenty of time to experience what could be in store for you. It DOES restrict you in many areas, mainly the social aspects of it (not being able to respond to private messages, not being able to join Free Companies, etc.), but it's a paid MMO, and they're letting you try the gameplay.

Basically, you'll play the game then decide if you want to get the game, which is... what a demo should do. For me personally, I liked what the trial gave me, so I will give the game a shot. When you buy the main game you get 30 days free, so why not? Plus it's not rare to see the game go on sale, so I would pick it up then if you want to save some money.

In all, it's a demo of the gameplay, not the full experience. If you like the gameplay, you should try to pick up the full game.

It's a strong game that has a lot of potential. The developers have some very interesting ideas lined up for the game; whether they are implemented into the game has yet to be seen. (This review is current as of March 14, 2014) I enjoy the game and doing missions with friends. The game can be a hard, yet satisfying challenge. The combat is smooth mostly, albeit some animation issues here and there, and the different frames offer a wide variety of gameplay options. The game is also very stylish and sleek, as a game about space ninjas should be.

...With that said, there are a few glaring issues:

-NAT sensitive. This game is very hard to get into if you are a victim of strict NAT. You will still most likely be able to play with random people, but it is highly unlikely you'll be able to play with friends. The network for the game is very unstable. This game uses the UPnP system, and if you don't have the option to enable it for your router, then good luck trying to find enjoyment in the game because you're gonna be mostly rolling solo.

-Massive. Grindfest. This is the biggest complaint that I have. I can't even begin to explain the countless hours of grinding for resources that my friends and I have done. Sure, you'll be getting resources from going through the different planets and opening all the levels, but to be able to craft stuff you will need to stay on one system and grind for specific resources, which is definitely a pain. There are very stringent weapons, frames, etc. that require a lot of a certain resource (the frame Zephyr comes to mind), or multiple rare ones (such as warframe primes and weapon primes that require Orokin cells). I have heard many people refer to the game as "Grindframe" just because of the sheer amount of time you will be grinding for resources. Which leads me to another complaint...

-Time-specific events. There are alerts that go out, which set up a situation on a certain system and if you complete the mission, you'll earn more credit than usual. They can also give extremely rare items and mods, such as Orokin Catalyst blueprints, Forma blueprints, and uncommon "aura" mods. However, most alerts won't even have great rewards, but to know that, you would need to be online and see what the alert is. It leads to a lot of tedium and frustration when you log-in and wait for a good alert to come. I don't know, maybe this is just a personal complaint, but in my opinion it really makes the game frustrating.

In all, I DO enjoy the game. For a free-to-play, it is very solid. Network is an issue for me personally, since only rarely am I ever able to connect to friends. But as I've said, I enjoy the game for what it is. Also, it's FREE TO PLAY. You start off with 50 platinum, which is the paid currency in the game, and that 50 platinum can really go a long way if you decide to stick with the game.

Give the game a try. For me, it's a 7.5 out of 10. If the developers can address the network issues, I would bump it up to an 8. It's worth a try.

Get this. Extremely fun 2-D multiplayer PvP arena game stuff thing. Tag along with two other friends (or me and another person!) and wreck stuff.
