Disclaimer: I really hope to change this review one day and hope this is constructive/helpful.

As a life long Halo fan this truly pains me. Many moons ago, I was waiting outside in the wind and rain with friends for a midnight release of halo. I would go home, put the game in, customize my spartan and emblem then jump right into games with friends until the early morning having the best time. Unlike the past, unfortunately, this game is far from that experience. There are so many things that are disappointing and off right now it seems like there was some significant internal misalignment between teams, or, leadership decisions that came from a place disconnected from Halo. IMPORTANT: This game is not bad, it is just not good...yet. If you are playing on PC it is also very far from optimized. I have a I9/3080/32gb ram and this game runs rough on mid-high graphics.

Potential and hope for the future: The game looks AMAZING and sounds AMAZING. I have had a lot of fun with those classic hilarious Halo moments with friends. Don't get me wrong, this game EASILY has the potential to be the best halo ever created but the laundry list of steps to get there is long... but, VERY doable. For a free FPS shooter and modern halo, its worth it to download and play with your friends, you will have some fun.

All in all, I am very optimistic and look forward to the future of this game with so much potential to be what it CAN be. I will continue to play having fun with friends enjoying the nostalgia Halo provides. This was written during the "beta" release, lets see what happens post-launch. This game can and will be great one day, I really believe 343 can do it, and I look forward to saying "wow, it is so impressive how far this game has come" one day.

Most Xtreme Elimination Challenge meets PC gaming, what could be better? Perhaps it could only be better if Kenny Blankenship and Vic Romano were announcers with Guy LeDouche reporting in the field... 11/10

The true beauty in this game comes when you are over doubling the enemy teams score and still get tea bagged every time you die - 11/10 nostalgia would always recommend.
