We are perpetually trapped in a never-ending spiral of life and death.
Is this a curse? Or some kind of punishment?
I often think about the god who blessed us with this cryptic puzzle...and wonder if we'll ever get the chance to kill him.
In the distant future.
In a land abandoned by man.
Machines wage a continuous war.
Unaware of the futility of their actions.

I—or we machine lifeforms I suppose—have a keen interest in humanity. Love. Family. Religion. War. The more human records I unearth, the more charmed I am by their complexity. This city is one of many areas I've created out of a desire to understand...to know...humans. It's grand, don't you think? Almost...spiritual. And yet, it's nothing more than an android graveyard. I seek to learn and and adopt all facets of humanity! Some desire love! Others family! Only then did I realize the truth...the core of humanity...is conflict. They fight. Steal. Kill. This is humanity in its purest form!

"This is YoRHa unit 2B...If anyone is listening to this, there's something I need you to do. If you ever meet up with YoRHa unit 9S...I want him...I mean...I'm sorry. Please just give him the following message: 9S...the time I was able to spend with you...It was like memories of pure light. Thank you...Nine...s..."

After fighting beside with 2B for such a long time, he realized that she was “too strong to be a mere B model”. That was the only card that fit. There was no mistaking it.
2B: 9S ... knew that I was ... an Executioner model?

2B's role was to ensure that 9S would not discover the true nature of Project YoRHa by executing him in case he dug too deep because of the natural curiosity programmed into him
