In the saturated market of the survival-crafting genre, Abiotic Factor manages to bring out something new and actually fun.

Graphics:
Faithful recreation of the original Half-Life style, enhanced with a modern lighting engine. Very charming.

Gameplay / Progression
In terms of progression, this game is pretty similar to Terraria. You go on an adventure, find new types of resources/loot to make weapons, armor, base upgrades, and unlock new areas. The devs clearly put a lot of thought behind balancing items. Acquiring higher-tier items doesn't immediately make your older ones obsolete. Items in this game are treated as situational tools; for example, a random recipe from earlier in the game can be very effective against late-game enemies. The game also encourages you to explore every nook and cranny and rewards you with a lot of surprises.

Performance
It's not that bad but your frames tends to drop when making base with a lot of stuff/ lightings.

BUGS
A lot of them are related to vehicle, be gentle with them and you should be find.

THIS GAME HAS SOUL
It's full of random details that aren't necessary for gameplay but make the world feel more alive. For example: All office chairs are non-static objects, and you can scoot around on them. Ingesting toxic food and then vomiting on your friend gives them the "filthy" status effect.

I really want to love this game... but not in this current state.

Let's begin with good stuff:
+++ The game's environment is densely packed with details and storytelling, probably on par with Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring in terms of quality.

++ Overall aesthetic of Weapons, Armor, items is Amazing.

++ Gunfights and gun customization are highly enjoyable, especially with perks.

++ Ship customization proves to be extremely fun. The combat is somewhat shallow but not much to complain about.

+ The side quests are GOOD, Crimson Fleet quest is the best among them
(made me feel like a real douchebag pirate ;o;)

Now let's delve into stink zone:
-The main quest leaves much to be desired....

-Fun mechanics are gated behind a 15-25 hour of level grinding (until you hit level 20-30). I personally believe most people with negative impressions of the game did get past this phase.

--- The game suffers SIGNIFICANTLY from lack of optimization in major settlements, especially in Akila and New Atlantis. Because of that, I find myself avoiding exploring them and only visits when there's a major quest-related objective there.

-- Dungeons and planets... Starfield doesn't have the same magic as in older Bethesda games, Probably because of knowing the fact that more than half of the game is not hand-crafted. I'm probably not gonna complain much about this because it's unreasonable for all of them to be hand-crafted. HOWEVER, most of these dungeons (at least on the same planet) are carbon copies of each other, very few unique layouts, enemy placements, chest placements, etc.
(It's quite bad compared to old games with much more varied tile sets and procedural generation systems. maybe adding those will bulk up the game size too much? idk.)

-The companions(the main ones with good perks) are presented in a very weird way like picking toys from a store, unlike how Skyrim and the Fallout (3, 4, NV) presented them in interesting situations/quests.

Neutral opinion (Stuff to complaining)
=The outpost is decent but is implemented in a way that renders them unnecessary, uninteresting.

=Enemy gets very bullet spongy with highest difficulty, fixed by installing mods that reduce health scaling for both myself and enemy.

=Space exploration is mostly loading screens and random ship encounters after orbiting a planet.
