Amended: Sony has reverse its decision and now more then happy to recommend this game. There's a reason why it has been such a hit since launch while releasing same time as Palworld and many others gems that's been out this year

Fingers crossed Sony doesn't pull a fast one but if they do, you'll see it in the review section

Edit Aug2024: People complaining about the Nerfs and well at the start you can argue they were bit harsh but recent patch only nerfed the most common 2 weapons by reducing the ammo pool which everyone was running and increase the recoil (not really felt)... They say other guns were under powered but i switch plenty of guns and have no issue, including using post-nerf breaker incendiary which is still op...

Recent downvotes are just people overreacting or having a massive tantrum, especially they buffed 10+ guns this recent patch by quite a bit as well.

I enjoyed the game when it first out though was very buggy, crashes a lot as well a few questionable game design options.

5 years later, the developer has made a return with a massive update fixing many of the issues and have kept on it since then, making it playable. Hopefully he (yep, it's a single developer) keeps at it as very much enjoying this and the first game.

Graphics improvements are great, soundtrack in HD etc... Somehow.. EA hasn't fk this up yet.

Not only that, they even put the original instalment clip but with a HD twist! massive goosebumps... purely nostalgic

Good job... It is like they actually cared for once. EA, this is how you get a good reception.

EDIT: If expecting a modern game/RTS, you may want to avoid as this attempts to recreate the original TD and RA1 game without messing it too much. If looking for a complete mp experience, OpenRA maybe a better option since it is free but if after the original CNC experience in single player, up-scaled, looking crisp, with soundtrack in full quality, then defs worth it. And no, TS and RA2 are not included in this package as some idiots thought it did... though if this does well, good chance those 2 will get an update as well, which is very much welcomed

For an Early Access game, it is very polished and looks amazing (graphic and art design compared to the previous games, just out of this world). Yes there are quite a few bugs and many of the features are still been worked on but majority of the game is there and player-able. Plus since coming out on Early Access, the game has been patched every single day which is pretty amazing. They ain't big patches but shows they are committed in cleaning it up and will say has made a different. Oh and mod support is awesome as well and currently thriving quite early actually for this game.

Even though I have only been playing the single player at this point, would recommend it at this point in time, especially since most of us should be staying at home during these times and this is a great game to dive into (09APR20).

absolutely brilliant upgrade from AOC and HD. AOE2DE is all the previous AOE2 version with a massive amount of content as well modernisation than I can't praise enough, especially at the price. Worth the buy, not just for nostalgia but the game is worth to hold it's own today. Microsoft has really done well here, showing they care about their IPs, games and fanbase and hope they will continue this further on!

Recommend to all, especially fans of RTS, any type of strategy as well good old nostalgia.

...That I would have said though for the past month, NWI haven't fixed Oceanic servers and this isn't a one off issue. Past 3 updates they have manage to break the servers, killing of Oceanic player base with ease, almost . With many of the skins coming out, it has been ridiculous for the state the game is in. Sadly the Beta was a lot better game to the game now and appears the developers have lost interest in the game and now milking it. Play Squad or ARMA and don't play this game until they redeem themselves...

As much it is a really good Rally SIM, the DLC and being overpriced has left me with a really sour taste. Codemasters need to lay off the overprice DLC over the bloody game. Super Deluxe Edition (Season 1 to 4) at 140 AUD is overkill with the content only worth 100 if that. It is pretty much trying to outdo EA and that shouldn't be something positive at all. Pretty let down from this as I really enjoyed DR2.0.

My advice, grab DR1 besides this, as much this is a really good rally sim, DR1 is a better overall package and better priced than this.

Good game, sadly need more players :'( takes a bit mroe time that most fps's to learn and heavily based on teamplay. Big recomandation to play if you can get a server.

As much I would love to recommend this game which many of my friends have strongly said to play... I cannot get on the game past the backscreen bug, affectively not allowing me to reach the main menu. I have tried many various steps to get pass this, as well contacted customer support but as most people know… Nexon doesn’t actually have “Customer support”...
This issue should’ve been picked up and fix during the close alpha… which was apparently present during the alpha but appears to be not fixed… Until I can get to the main menu, I just cannot recommend this game until they fix this problem as this is unreasonable to have something like this at this moment.
