A decent 20 hour game spread over 100 hours, a decent 40 hour visual novel brought down by a game spread too thin and uneven quality.
There is a mod on NexusMods that lets you multiply the game speed. It helps.

This is a visual novel with tactical combat. The big gimmick is that they pulled in a bunch of additional writers to write additional story lines, resulting in it feeling like a both a game and a library of fan-fiction devoted to it built in to it.

This would be an achievement, if not for my main complaint, which is that the lack of oversight and attention devoted to the story branches results in them feeling like little more than very tame actual fan fiction. Most routes have no unique mechanics, enemies, even battle encounters or videos, having just their text and some unique still images. Ideas get brought up and added to the lore, some intriguing, some less, and roughly half of them just get dropped.
As a result, repeated animations, battles, story beats get played out over and over. The game gets stale quickly. Some story beats come together in an overarching way, most fizzle out leaving just a sense of disappointment over what could have been.

It's a Persona 3-5 styled game, but set in a fantasy world and following more of a road-trip format. It's fine, but not very daring and doesn't feel nearly as high budget as Persona 5 did. Difficult to recommend in a world where Persona 3 to 5 exist and are on Steam.

My major dissapointment with the game stems from a pre-release interview which stated that "you can't do it all." and implied that you will have to miss some content.
That isn't the case, there's less time pressure here than in any of the previous games. For a game that keeps bringing up the word "anxiety", it feels like a missed opportunity to not have the player experience more friction.

It's a game where you get to play through the moments in a Dawn of War game when the view is full of explosions and bodies, but from the ground level. Game's good.

has something that looks like a battle pass. that part isn't bad yet, hope it stays that way.

It's a good fighting game and helped me get in to the genre just enough to win some small workplace and apartment MK/SF tournaments. I still get stomped if I dare go online, though.

Has one of the better character casts out there but can be rough for beginners due to how demanding the game can be when it comes to inputs for longer combos.

oh, and they removed 3rd reich evocative armbands from some characters and added slightly more clothing in some story cgs recently. Probably for the best, especially as the characters were one of the "good guy" factions.
The in-game character art has remained largely unchanged, except for the armbands, and is still embarrassing to show to anyone not deep in some nerddom.

Probably a better digital implementation of various board games than their digital versions available on the steam store here.

You can find a huge variety of board games in the workshop, they work well, many of them are partially automated(scripted) and they can let you experience even games that would otherwise require gathering up 400$+ of very rare cardboard, tokens and minis, possibly with enough automation to make it a better experience than playing it on an actual table.

Had a lot of fun playing Gloomhaven on this, more than in the video game adaptation. Ended up spending an unreasonable amount of money on physical board games because of this game.

There's an altar with a whip on it in the middle of a forest.
If you pick the whip up, a ghost appears and threatens you with death if you don't place the whip back. If you don't, you get attacked by a series of very difficult magic casting spectres.

There's a hidden dice roll and skill check before you see the threat which, if failed, swaps out the threat for 'unintelligible gibberish'. You still get murdered.

This is a good CRPG. It has a lot of bafflingly terrible decisions in it. It's not fun 60% of the time.

Another one of those F2P Call of Duty inspired multiplayer shooters that looks, runs and plays well. Has a dash of Valorant to it. Likely to die within 3 years.

Might be worth checking out if you want something light.

Short matches, good gunplay, unobtrusive monetization with a season pass that pays back 100% when maxed out.
the main con is tying a stat boost to some rare weapon skins. there's a system to get them without paying, but it's a lootbox and/or a grind. other non-progression unlockables seem to be cosmetic.

It's fun, a good chunk of content and forced me break many of my bad habits in these kind of games.
Might actually be my favorite of all the Arkane games.

It has a timer, initially high difficulty and permadeath. It also faster paced than the base Prey 2017 once you get in to it.

Biggest improvement over the base game - barely any hacking minigames

A game that breaks key conventions of the Western RPG genre, proving that you can develop a long, interesting narrative focused game without tacking on combat systems or abstractions of such.
The most likely game of 2019 to leave a long-lasting impact on the games industry. also it looks pretty.

What it does well: it's p dang good
The bad: There are set points in the plot that you'd expect to be reactive, but aren't. The point of no return is not made obvious. As you start to near the end of the game, an increasing amount of time gets taken up by traversal and area transitions.
