Sadly I must announce our decision to close Jump Skillz. The player amount dropped the last half year by a lot because of bad maintenance on my part. Jump Skillz used a lot, often badly written, plugins to provide the common jump server experience. While the other servers don't require much attention because they are vanilla or use only one well written and supported plugin (MGE) that's not true for Jump Skillz. That combined with the large player drop is the reason for us closing the server.
All other servers will of course continue to run.

Starting now Dustbowl Blitz and Harvest Blitz have class restrictions. We felt we have to do something against the masses of spies and snipers who are little credit to team. Spy is bottom tier in this game on any skill level, while being the most interesting for new players. Sniper on the other hand is extremely good on a competitive level while being useless on a beginners level. Because of certain other modern shooters they are sadly very popular as well. Many matches become imbalanced because a team is full of snipers and spies who can't kill anything. This is what we want to change.

Let's get to the details. Every class is restricted to 4 players except Spy and Sniper with a maximum of 2 each and soldier who is unlimited. The reasoning behind this is that more useful classes shouldn't be restricted as bad although it can get quite overpowered (like 4 engineers and 4 demoman on dustbowl def). Players shouldn't feel any restriction choosing a useful class too often.

Hopefully those restrictions will improve the game experience for most players.

With a recent patch, Valve enabled play on valve servers by default for quickplay. While this seems to be what most players wanted due to the very low average quality on community servers, this also will mean the impending doom for all community servers.

What this means for us:
We'll keep the current lineup of servers running, as long as there are meaningful amounts of players on them. We previously switched maps and closed certain servers, when they were not being utilized, we will continue to do so.
Our motivation has been to provide high quality, ad-free servers to help the community; should this not be neccessary anymore at some point due to players prefering Valve servers, we'll close our lineup of TF2-servers down.

What this means for you:
With the influx of quickplay missing, it will be more important to add communityservers you enjoy to your favorites, see our HLX panel at http://hlx.zebrazocker.eu/ for our current lineup of servers and their activity. If you enjoy playing on our servers, be sure to invite your friends as well.

Since quickplay never was a factor for the Jump and 1v1 servers, we'll probably keep these running, again, as long as there are meaningful amounts of players using them.
