Happy (Belated) 6 Year Anniversary

It's been a long time, hasn't it Utopians? Although "6" isn't a milestone generally celebrated, I figured it would be better to celebrate now than in 10 years.

For this extravaganza, we redeemed our remaining kado points for a modernized logo and I even took a photo of the festivities[i.imgur.com].

While this group has fallen aside and gathered dust, the memories haven't. Thanks for all the good times, there's far too many to list. :)

PS: There is nothing to read into about fox's size. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that he is a despicable smash character is every single smash game and Landmaster is the dumbest scrub final smash move ever.

All matches will take place on Granery Arena as that is the most balenced Arena course.

I am also going to bad some weapons 0-2 per class. (just to keep things balenced)

Heavy:natascha No explination needed :P sandvich 1v1 the non-heavy will be too scared to go near him even will low HP so the heavy can just throw his sandvich on the ground to get him to survive or eat it which is bad because (for me at least) opposition to far away from heavy to accually to something about it.
Engi: wrangler 1v1 is cheap because you are only looking for one person, thus with wrangler you instantly win.

Highlander Tourney Reprint

(COPYand PASTE) There's a highlander tournament being hosted by ETF2L with signups currently open. For those of you who don't know "highlander" is 9v9 TF2 with only one of each class on every team. We'll need at least 3 more members first before we participate, because teams need to have from 10-14 members. But the best part: playing in the tournament gets you an IN GAME BADGE you can't get anywhere else! So comment here if you're in and what top 3 classes you'd be good at. Sign up ends in 5 days so we better get our classes finalized and find another 3 members (james I dont think will do it).

Our match from ashville didn't go so well with us, and like our previous fight, we need to work on our teamwork skills.

Here's what I noticed that we can improve on:

-The other team did a lot of jumping while they were moving over enclosed areas with no fighting going on. As a scout, this made it harder for me to flank, as I needed to go in at a sharper angle and think a little more about aiming. I think we should all practice this.

-Again, we need to use more teamwork. They worked together well as a team by sticking together in groups. They had like a soldier on the left building, a scout on the right, engineer on the center, sniper off by the edge, and a medic hiding behind whichever class needed health. If we went after one, nearby teammates would leave thier positions and help with the battle, so that way they theoratically had three members at each area. When we grouped together, it was sort of just in a cluster and it was very easy to recieve splash damage. We need to make team manuver not just all being within a few feet of eachother, but entering at planned times and places, like maybe to use a scout to take the notice off of the rest of the team so the engineer can set up, or fso a soldier can get into position to rocket jump up and take out thier medic. Or simply just attacking from two sides.

-Identify your weaknesses, not just as your class, but as your playing style. For me I play far too haphazardly and don't jump enough in battle. I can use double jump effectivley at getting places, but in combat I generally stay on the ground. By haphazardly I mean if there's a situation there's a 30% chance or higher I'll survive, I'll do it. Instead of running away when I should when I'm out of ammo and nearly out of health, I'll take out my bat and attempt to melee them to death. I want everyone to figure out how you need to improve. And yes, we all have problems because we all died at least once.

What have we learned...

Everyone showed up for the scrimmage and we all had a blast! (at least I did) Of course, though, we lost terribly. However, we did continually improve as we learned how to play competitivley and almost won a few times. I say we have a few more scrimmages and practice as a team so we can work together better. Also remember to practice on your own so you indivitually can shine when your team needs you most.

There's a lot we can do to come in tighter as a team, but here's what really stood out to me reflecting upon the match.

-We really need to sick together and attack as a team. More than half the tmes I died I was on my own without support from everyone else.

-To avoid getting killed like that, remember to FALL BACK! If half your team is dead and telling you to fall back, do it, or you'll have to respawn as well. However, if you see one of the enemy is injured go after them to stop them from falling back. Contraversley, we also need to regroup better. There were times where we just trickled in and got mowed down by minigun bullets a few times before we got a regroup spot sorted out.

-Offclassing never really worked. I can't think of a single time where changing classes in that game actually made us stronger than playing as the previous class. Before anyone offclasses we should quickly debate it as a team with VC before the player respawns.

-We have no way to counter heavies

-Benny was lisining in on our VC. However, he didn't inform the other team because "I didn't have any idea how to turn the dang thing on."

-The other team said we had a pretty good scout and demo, and reccomended we get another good scout. This brings me down to what classes we will be playing. Feel free to correct me or whatever, this is just what I remember.

ID fix, first match, and group tag

We've (I've) messed up a bit with the sign up process, so here's what you've gotta do to fix it:

1 go to steamidfinder.com
2 imput your custom url
3 go to support.cevo.com
4 create a ticket requisting them to change your unique game ID
5 add in the id from the id finder site and add any additional comments you might want to add

If you can't do this, then you won't be able to participate in the tournament. So MAKE SURE YOU DO.

If we can get it fixed in time (and if the support people are nice enough) We'll get to participate in preseason.

It is scheduled as below:

And one more piece of news, we've got seven people ready for the team, and only 6 can play so somebody's going to get dropped. Whoever does gets a guaranteed position in the next tournament.

All 6 of us participating will need to sign up at http://www.cevo.com/?page=forum&func=viewthread&id=10572&forumID=2 for the tournament. We will be playing in the Amateur division.

You'll need to register by Sunday, August 8th at midnight CST. We need to decide who's captain by then. We'll also need to practice together and maybe find a few scrimmages.
