There's no real reason for them to release a Team Fortress 3 nor a new Counter Strike game. TF2 gets updates all the time, and I don't really know what they could really improve upon in TF3 that would make it worth buying a new game. There's always porting to Source2, except I'm pretty sure Valve will figure it out without having to create a whole new title. And CS just got a new installment pretty recently, unless they have an amazing new game mechanic that they just forgot to implement, there's no reason for that, either. And they are not going to release Half Life 3 within our lifetimes. There is a perfectly good reason for them to make this, it's just that Gaben enjoys watching us all go insane.

But if you're modding the game through wine, isn't that the same as just using Windows to mod? If I'm not mistaken the source engine got ported to OSX/Linux quite a while ago, I don't think you would have to use wine to make the mod for HL2.

Also, Dev C++ is outdated and the compiler that comes with it doesn't work with anything past XP/Vista (Can't remember at the moment) If you want to use Dev C++, google Orwell's Dev C++.

I don't think you understand how pipeline works. (That's okay, we're here to learn anyways.) Pipeline wasn't made so that Valve could recruit a bunch of teenagers to work for them, but instead to teach teenagers like yourself how to get involved in the gaming industry. Valve DID hire a small group of teens in the Seattle area, but them hiring any more is highly unlikely.

Java is probably your best bet for what you want to learn first. If you can master Java, pretty much everything else will come easily. Though I wouldn't recommend actually making a game with java, it's good to know.

Thenewboston is a good youtube channel to get started with programming, but he didn't finish all of his series, so be careful. w3schools is a good reference site for javascript.
