Hello there, I am a proficient sound designer for videogames. I have a 740 follower base on soundcloud and make multi-genre tracks.

I have worked (and am still working on) a minecraft modpack under the name of "The Voxel Modpack" which was originally supposed to be for the popular minecraft server "The Voxel Box" however has expanded and is now featured in popular minecraft 3rd party launchers such as feed the beast.

I am looking for an oppertunity to produce music and sounds for games and would love to help out on this project.

Far as I know, no. We're in real early conceptual stages; right now I think this game is an idea and some simple maps in Hammer.

Any creative input would be welcome, we're trying to schedule some sort of regular meeting to flesh out what exactly we want to do.

Everyone has at least a little time in the evenings, we should host some Skype calls on a weekly basis.

Even if it's just a very small team, if you distill the idea of a zero-g shooter down to the bare essentials, we could get something fun to play done.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Just set up a Skype call or something. Maybe over TF2 or DOTA or something, just so it's not quite as awkward : )

So I've been poking around here every now and then, but it just seems like this community isn't really a community! Valve had a great idea here; but I think they might have underestimated our sheer antisociality :D

I mean, just look at how few topics we have in everything. When you get down to it, we're all still a bunch of strangers; there's no real group to speak of.

I'm not exactly sure how, but we should revive this community. Maybe something like a weekly gaming session; and a weekly discussion about the mechanics/design/etc of that game? Again, I'm not really sure.

Anyone else have any similar ideas?

So, what's the status here? IIRC we were talking about holding a skype session or similar to talk about it, is this still going on?
