Haha yeah I used to be pretty involved in the whole "Game dev" thing back in the day.

I made my game and after studying 3D modelling and experiencing the industry first-hand, it's really not a healthy workplace, at least not in most places. Which truly is a shame.


Did any one that was involved in this group ended up working in game developing? I'm curious!

It is not. Valve has stopped focusing on games and they seem to have forgotten what made them so great; it's community.

From my knowledge, there is no alternative to make maps for Source.

Maya is usually the software used in the industry for animators. You can still animate with 3Ds Max or even Blender!

Dont use Source if you're planning on making anything that isnt a mod for a source game. Not worth the effort. Just learn how to use UE or Unity

I'm a huge F-Zero fan, like wipeout (but I enjoy F-Zero more) and love racing games in general. I think with the knowledge I have of racing game, I would be able to be a gameplay designer for the project. I'm also a 3D artist so I could help with that too if needed.
