One important thing that Steam has is guides. However I have found a problem with them. You can only create guides for one specific game. What does this mean? If you wanted to make a portal bumping guide for both portal 1 and 2 then you would need to create 2 seperate guides. A more important reason why this should be changed is guides for creating games. Recenlty, I created a guide on how to make the plot of a videogame. However, this guide needed to be created under a game, which does not apply to this guide. I am proposing there should be a new section for Steam Guides for developing videogames and other categories. If you wanted to make a guide on how to use the Unreal engine or how to create textures and apply them to 3d models then these guides should be created in the appropriate place rather than under a specific game. I think a section for guides on developing videogames would be very beneficial to this group, especially becasue there has been many people that have wanted to create a game but just do not know how. Please discuss this and if enough people show interest in it then Valve might update the guides section of steam to be better for modders and developers.
