ever tried modding really DayZ is a perfect example its alredy built it really is easy to mod it :)

i have tried it but that is using a different engine that was made for different things. i would like a game purely for roaming round building up safe houses out of collected materials. the same sort of engine as left4dead 2 but free-roam round a huge island.

I just discovered this Valve Pipeline thing and saw this post so I thought I might as well share my game. I'm 19 and I just graduated from high school a year ago. I'm making a game called Survive that is very similar to the game you describe and will be coming to "next-gen"(PS4 for sure since I already have a dev kit and hopefully xb1 if I can get a dev kit). I am the only one working on it right now, and it runs on a custom engine written completely by me. It got greenlit on steam a few months ago and I hope to release it on early access in a few months.
