I got temporarily laid off Friday so I'm slowly working on my gaming backlog. I finally finished RE2 Remake, just need to finish the extras. I think I'm almost done Borderlands 3, then onto either Mortal Kombat XL or Wolfenstein New Colossus while continuing to work on unlocking characters in Smash Ultimate.
Also the messageboard is back as well...kinda. You can go to https://www.thegameheroes.com/phpBB3 but you can't click on anything or log in. And it also looks like it was restored from an old backup. Because we were still posting into the summer and the site didn't die until around August 2017. But the oldest posts on the restored message board are from early 2016.
Earlier this year the domain had expired. I wonder if someone besides Tom bought it and are trying to sort of bring it back and are piecing together a version of the site from old cached versions or something. I know Tom had said the person that did the site no longer had the original code or something and that's why it never officially moved out of "beta".
Anyway, I'm playing Luigi's Mansion 3 and Gear 5.
Oh, and my wife got me a Switch so I've been playing the hell out of Zelda.
I always remember around this time in 2008 is when TGH started. And talk about time flying, it's been almost 2 years I think since the site finally died for good. If I remember right the site went away and I think the forums lasted through the summer then died. Curiously I decided to see if the URL was still dead and now when I go there the GoDaddy page says the URL expired last month and is pending renewal or deletion. I guess Tom is finally letting it die all the way.
Now onto Shadow of the Colossus remastered.
I now am moving on to Outlast 2 on Xbox One, and after that I guess I'll dig into some random backlog I have.
Well Dark Souls remastered comes out tomorrow. Am I a sucker and getting it?... Well we all know the answer to that...
I'm torn on DLC; on one hand I'm satisfied with 100% the game, but on the other I enjoyed it so much I'd like some more and in a way it seemed short even though I'm sure I put 50 hours into it total.
I'm for the Jets or Capitals, or even the Lightning. To hell with the Knights, who were almost handed a Stanley Cup Finals appearance. There's no way I'm rooting for them.
3) While the valkyrie fights were awesome and super hard (I was an idiot and fought a comple around level 5/6... don't do that unless you enjoy pain) I think there needed to be more secret bosses in those hidden areas besides trolls or ancients.
But overall fantastic game. Not the 10 out of 10 everyone and their uncle says as I stated above, but better than 99.9% of the ♥♥♥♥ most publishers spew out.
1) Lack of bosses. They recycle the same troll boss fight like 10 times in the game. In the main story I think there were what, maybe 3 or 4 different bosses (combining the troll and Baldur fights as one each). For a series known fo crazy boss fights that was a let down.
2) Too many silly collectibles. ♥♥♥♥ those ravens, artifacts and buried treasures. Outside of needing them for trophies by the end of the game they're completely pointless. I had so much spare XP and money by the end that they were rendered comepletely useless and some where just a pain to find.
Now on to God of War.
Well, finally finished the Bloodborne expansion and have officially 100% the whole game. Took me two character builds. ♥♥♥♥ I love that game
Next week, the new God of War which is getting out of this world reviews.
The only part that stood out to me about HT's interview was the short part about Cameraman Joe. He said he's no longer in the pizza business, he's "single again" , and went back to school. Sounds like a lot has gone on in his life

I also beat Firewatch. It was ok, but I think it was a bit overhyped. Started co-oping Bloodborne with a buddy. I created a new character to play with him and make the expansion... well, beatable.
