Quick PSA about the current state of phishing scams.

After the recent case of a CSGO youtuber falling for one of these fake website phishing scams, it seems pertinent to make sure the community in general is more aware of the way they operate. ANYONE can fall for these scams, not only new players, and they are designed to get around Steam Guard protections in ways you may not be aware of. Please have a read of the following threads for detailed information:

This post on r/GlobalOffensiveTrade runs through the case mentioned above, and SteamRep have put together a more in depth guide for spotting and avoiding these scams here[forums.steamrep.com].

Both links also give information on how to properly secure your account if you feel it has been compromised.

It's the same web API key scam that has been around for ages.

None of it relatively new.

Some phishing pages are clones of other third-party sites, such as Bitskins or OPskins.

I made a guide outlining most of this a while ago.

TLDR: Looking at the URL / Domain carfully is the best advice when dealing with phishing pages.

some ppl from valve are abusing some things like login into my friends account and he dint succeed it
and left note that was " al "
And btw thx for the update it was happening to all of ppl 6 i encoutered about useopskins or some duped items or mistakely reported and looking for guy who is from valve ( created some simple weird GIF that you will have permaban and something else) and he said "give me your items and you will be secured" or some other things that i will be suspicious
