Heads up to all people, to play online you need GameRanger or GameMaster. From playing the past few days, there are more players using Ranger. There's even a server that gets 30+ weekends/peak hours weekdays

Just a note. I don't remember playing in any tournaments since 2006. I will NOT download anything extra except the bare minimum necessary to play the game. I will gladly play as my own schedule allows, but I won't change my name to do so. If someone is impersonating me, please just stop. It's not worth it. I'll play Battlefront 3 when it comes out for sure, but anything going on in SWBFII seems pointless to me outside of extra time. I enjoy scrimming (especially when scrims are taken seriously) but I'd rather take a scrim seriously than a match that doesn't matter anymore, especially since the netcode even on LAN is awful in the game. Thanks.

Damn, guys. Today's the day. There's no a single other shooter that I've gotten or perhaps will ever get into as much as I have Battlefront 2.

Disney just keeps haunting my favorite games. First the closure of VMK and now the closure of Battlefront 2 servers today... At least there's a workaround with the latter, but man, I thought Disney was supposed to make dreams come true, not take them away... I should probably expect them to purchase Subway and promptly remove Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki and Flatbread from the menu.

Anyway, I met some great people when I started playing this game back in 2010 (I was late to the party). I hope we can see each other on GameRanger servers or SWBF3 actually turns out to be a formidable successor (which I have doubts about).

There are a vareity of options to continue online play after the June 30th shut down. However, all require client action and will further split an already extremely low population. The game has been "dead' for quite some time, this end is more spiritual than anything.

Sad to see it go. Fun times were had back when we all played, and I wouldn't mind some sort of reunion day ingame before it finally shuts down.

I enjoyed the game while I played it, albeit the headaches and frustrations it gave me. I don't think I could ever play it again but it's still sad to see any old game die, especially one which had a very strong community.
