Multiplayer Mod
So I know this is a big one. Something that is on everybodys mind. But the only thing is, who is gonna do it?

I think we can all agree adding some sort of Multiplayer, or CO-OP into this game would increase its play value by a couple billion points. On top of how great it is already.

At this point, I would be ok with just being able to have someone drop in/out from LAN/IP or even splitscreen.

Is there anyone here who is familiar enough with the Cry 3 engine that they think they could do this?

If so let us know! I personally am super interested and am willing to help in any way possible. I personally would make the mod myself, but I have never done anything with making mods as of yet. I am going to look at some tutorials and start getting into it for this game though :)

There is some base code in the engine by default that would allow for some fairly basic multiplayer. Only problem is getting the AI to properly sync over the network.

I'm never going to say it's impossible, I would just say I would wait until full release to really start working on the mod.

I know that they were originally planning on adding co-op, but then they decided it would take too long to add it in. Makes you wonder if that means it would take just as long for someone to mod it in. Although after looking around on the internet it would seem there is a very high demand for it.

Do you believe it would be easier to develop the mod after the full release?

The trouble is that Undead Labs has direct access to all components of the engine, we have to make due with what we can mess with - which limits us enormously.

I will say that I had never made a mod, barely touched blender, never used cryengine, nor even bothered to breakdown components of games before a couple weeks ago. You can see what I've accomplished so far, and what I'm doing in my screenshots.

That is to say that you don't need any experience whatsoever, just start researching and messing with things on your own :)

Not easier, just better for compatibility.

Gotchya. So I have heard that Undead Labs is going to make their game completely moddable. Does this mean that some day they will release their tools to the public?

One can hope. For now you can actually do a lot of stuff without the editor itself.
