I'm pretty good at this stuff- usually- I get the lingo, I'm "down". So I just recently started playing with the SoD character files- I put Judge Lawton over Sam (with proper portrait), I played around with Marcus' file and made him some white dude with a different head and boots (with portrait), I put Marcus over Ed and didn't change the textures because it looks like he has a Cosby sweater on, and I found it funny.

Now, I'm ready for more. I am VERY curious, and haven't seen anything too in-depth about it- Editing Clothing textures and Skin textures. I'm DYING to make a Pam Grier-esque chick in here, but before I can even start, I need to find a way to make the skin dark. I saw someone made Maya into Rochelle (love her, she just looked like chocolate milk that needed jus a lil' more chocolate, yknow?), but am not sure how to actually edit Skin texutres. The one I want to re-color specifically is "characters/female/human/body/buttons/variant/v05.cdf". I love the model, and I like the color of the clothing for it without needing to do too much work, and I like the hair (would try to put Marcus' fro on it, though :p)

Also, I tried to edit the Slacks on "characters/male/human/body/buttons_nicepants/variant/v02.cdf" to look like normal jeans while keeping the Cowboy boots the same color (I'm surprised this is the only male outfit with Cowboy boots), but the change didn't appear in game after I saved and moved the file.

I'm very curious- how exactly do you edit textures in this game? It's pretty much all I can ever do with modding but I can't seem to get it here. If you know of a guide, or know how to edit the one's I specifically mentioned yourself, please let me know! It would be much appreciated!
