We all use Steam! What better way to share our interest in mods (dead or alive)?

I'm an avid soure-mod enthusiast and have been trying to get my hands on this free material since i first discovered it was possible. Sadly i have seen many mods in the past half-decade wither and fade. The "untouchables" as you would call them. No server, no players, no profit?

I think its time that all modders, all mod entusiasts, whether you have some modding skill or no modding skill, to allocate our resources into reviving dead or dying mods.

I see too many popular mods with sometimes as many as 30 servers, but only a few are ever populated at any given moment.

Not that I'm to dictate what the modders should do, but i also happen to know that I'm not the only one who is saddened by the decline of mods. Dev teams come and go, but if we had a more centralized community, I think that more mods would be around. Not to say that there is anything wrong with www.moddb.com. It has its share of groups and fans and mod pages, but its not so centralized.

I only hope to be of help to struggling modders or aspiring modders.

I do not claim to know more than most, (as i have very limited technical modding knowledge) and i certainly do not wish to compete with other groups or be the focal point of power.

I have searched "source mods" in steam, and found maybe 1 group with 50 members. This group that I am creating is purely to revive mods, or any form of creating mods. It is a purely informative network for people to allocate their resources and tell their friends so we don't leave another promising mod out in the cold.

I hope to be in touch with all like-minded groups out there. If someone thinks I am reinventing the wheel, I encourage you to challenge me, and if there is a more renouned group currently in operation, i will then devote my time to getting more people involved.

However this group ends up, my end goal is the same, and I welcome any thoughts any of you may have and look forward to viewing them.
