[3] I'm now working on undoing the mess left on my account: unblocking all the newly blocked people, and attempting to re-friend all the people that were automatically un-friended by the hijacker bot thing. To anyone who blocked me (there seem to be a few that did in response to the spam phishing chat messages), it'd be handy if you'd un-block me... but then again I guess you wouldn't be able to see this message if you'd blocked me? I dunno; it's a giant stupid mess and ultimately I have only myself to blame.

[2] Anyway. No serious permanent harm was done to my Steam account (thanks largely to Steam Guard).

But, I checked my account logs, and the hijackers used bots to send phishing spam chat messages to 53 people on my friends list. And then subsequently un-friended and blocked those people. (Oh and they defaced my profile page to put a scary-looking message there about how "THIS ACCOUNT HAS VIOLATED STEAM TERMS OF SERVICE". Because Valve definitely puts messages like that directly into your "profile description" box lol.)

So: If you were on my friends list and got a suspicious Steam chat message from me today, and/or suddenly found that I had un-friended and blocked you... yeah that wasn't me, that was the hijackers. Sigh. AND DON'T CLICK ANY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LINKS IN ANY SUCH CHAT MESSAGES!

[1] Yeah, so, today I was an idiot and got my Steam account phished and hijacked! Yaaaaay!

PSA: Don't be dumb like me and get complacent and completely fail to remember to look at the URL bar when a website asks you to do the "Sign in through Steam" thing. (Even if it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ browser like the Steam in-game overlay browser that does a terrible job of showing URL security stuff compared to most real browsers.) Be smart and make sure that the "Steam" page isn't actually hosted on some random Russian domain.

Also, don't click on links from Steam chat, especially if they're suspicious or you aren't expecting them.

(Also... if you ever catch me using poor grammar, like "u" instead of "you", or lowercase "i", or putting spaces in front of punctuation marks for no reason, or using no capitalization whatsoever... then assume it's not me and that it's an imposter. Because I tend to be very specific about the way I type words. )

Normally you won't have an API key, and if you don't know what they're used for or how they work, you most likely shouldn't have one on your account.

It's just another method people use for scams to gain access to your account. Here is a decent breakdown from a cs:go subreddit.

Check recent login history for your account:

Check for and revmote any unknown API keys associated with your account:

Sorry for the spam here but has anyone else recently received a link from sigsegv, to a web site for an ESLChampionship team TryHard? It does not seem like a valid site and prompts you for your steam login information.

The servers themselves are NOT back, but a third party server recreating the experience can be played on; you can find more about it on the latest announcement.

Looks like you fixed the crashing issues.

It's kind of buggy though. The server either crashes or gives "connection problem: auto-disconnecting" whenever the map/wave changes or the round resets.

Happy to see that one of the servers is back up

Extra modded just shut down while we were playing and hasn't come back yet, is something happening?

Yes, and yet only a few days since some were requested to be uploaded. Requests which happened to be made during/around holidays, hence the delay.

I will go through them when I am back home later today.

Aight it's been 16 days since the last mission was uploaded...

A fix was pushed that should resolve the crash on map change.

There is an issue with the 'improved server #1', as it doesnt want to switch to any other map via the voting system (basically stuck on the default mannworks map).

Just request it from one of the admins and we'll open it up for you.

And yes, technically they share the same files and missions, but some mods on it may be more up to date and/or experimental at times. Currently there is no real meaningful difference between them.

#2 shares the same files as the other Sig servers, it's just a private server that you can request access from the staff to play only with people you know

if we want to use the testing server (#2) how do we put missions we want to test on there and does the server have the mods the public servers do?
