Thanks for making it to the year 2017. With the new year comes a new set of events for the group to play, hopefully with some regularity.

Our first event of the year will be a Dirty Bomb semi-serious match, scheduled tentatively for February 4th. The minimum number of players for this match will be at least 10, although 8 may be possible.

Similar to an event we had months ago, this match will be private, and involve team picking as well as a merc draft and friendly fire. I will be inviting players from other groups to partake if possible.

For the next month after, we are currently looking at Killing Floors 2 for February 18, followed by our first Dungeons and Dragons session on the 4th of March. There is still time to sign up for the DND event; details are on the Discord.

I am also considering opening clan recruitment up to randoms on the Steam forums.

Thanks to those of you who were able to make it to the Sample Text Legion's 1st Anniversary/Birthday gaming marathon! We somehow managed to chew our way through four games, even though they weren't all the ones listed in the original announcement. I look forward to seeing our members create new events in the future, as we continue on our quest for Steam (and then world) domination.

Our clan birthday event has been scheduled to be all day, starting at 1000 CST to whenever all members in every timezone pass out.

This epic gaming marathon will consist of a rotation of the following chosen gaymes:

• Dirty Bomb
  
• Team Fortress 2
  
• Murder Miners
  
• Serious Sam Classics: Revolution

Although it is possible to add to this rotation, should we burn out of them too quickly. ^^

Each game has a submode, so we're currently planning to derp in Dirty Bums/not srs for a few games before playing a "ranked match" or two. The kicker is this- since next to no one even plays ranked anymore, if we can get at least ten players, we will always be matched against each other. Win or lose, everyone gets additional credits and experience just for taking advantage of the system.

That's not to mention, you know... knife and defib fights

Murder Miners as you may or may not know is Minecraft meets Halo with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ server populations. This game has been a staple of Sample Team events because of its low cost, robust private server system, and being easy to run on even the most potato of computers.

If you don't already have a copy, let me know and I'll spot you. ^^

TF2 needs no introduction. When you scrap out the hats, overpriced digital wedding rings, and pisspoor comp mode, it's "the most fun you can you have on the internet" at its core- cartoon characters exploding each other into many, many limbs.

Serious Sam Classics: Revolution went on sale this week for a dollar. Despite being an ancient gayme, it supports up to 42 players. That's 42 players. That's as many as six sevens. And that's amazing.
The sale is over but we would like to cram as many of us as possible into that one game; depending on finances I might be able to spot you for that, too, but first come, first serve.

Masters of Ceremonies
I will be running the event from that morning until around early evening American time, due to real life family concerns which must be addressed/cannot be missed. After I leave, RealHumanWoman will be in charge for the rest of the evening. ^^

When the event starts, make sure to log into the Discord or into the Steam Group Chat, or BOTH. This is so we can coordinate every participant and make sure you all get into a game. Not everyone has everyone friended, so this is imperative.

On that note, thanks again for staying together as the most organized group of trolls since OriginalChan. Let's look forward to....

As you may be aware, our clan's first birthday party is quickly approaching (October 31st). For lasting this long as a band of trolls and pseudo internet family, we would like to hold a birthday party of meme-worthy scope.

I have posted a thread in the forums asking for your vote(s) on what we should play during the event. Please take some time to contribute- it would mean a lot.

The date is currently set for Saturday the 29th, with times to be determined. We may have multiple parties to accompany both Americunts and Yurofags.
