Hello Nodianites.

We will be reopening the server tonight, after the forced wipe update is pushed out. We're very sorry for the problems that occurred last month, and we apologise for any annoyance caused as a result of those problems. As stated in last weeks post, we will no longer be using the name RustNode. Instead we will be using our network name Nodian.

In the next few months we will be looking for community feedback on a regular basis to try and enhance the user experience on our servers. Me and the senior team have decided that custom servers would be a great way to enhance the user experience. Therefore, we are hoping that some of you fellow players could suggest some features you would like implemented for the custom Rust server.

This is your chance to help shape our community!

Hello fellow Nodianites.

We would like to apologize for the intermittent problems occuring this month. As a result of the regular ddos attacks, we have enhanced our mitigation layer to cater for these situations.

RustNode will return next week, with a different title. We will no longer be branding our servers with the Node suffix. Within the next few months, we will be rolling out a multitude of different game servers, to try and expand our user base (we simply aren't utilizing the hardware we're paying for).

Finally, I would like to thank those who have supported us for the past seven months. We wouldn't be here without you!

Developer visits!

Today was a good day for us here at RustNode as we had a very special visitor. Facepunch's very own holmzy!

We could barely believe our eyes when he randomly appreared in chat in all his orange named glory. As you would expect, a slew of questions then followed along with the occasional guy ranting about how the game should be.

Then came my turn to probe the developers mind in this game that now quite frankly resembled more of a reddit AMA. My moment came and i saw my opportunity to ask him the ultimate question....

After a lengthy and quite hilarious conversation the developer told me he would return and maybe in greater numbers! One can only assume this means we may soon be seeing a multitude of well known orange names on the server.

Status Report

After a rather longer then expected downtime due to a virtual switch causing a DNS failure I am now pleased to inform you all that your favorite server is now back online!

As this was an unexpected downtime we had no way of backing up BP's as the server went down, this means that we have had to rollback BP's to our nearest backup which was last Sunday.

As per usual with every forced wipe we are running a totally new map and hope that you will join us there!

Downtime update

Hello fellow nodians.

I'm sorry about the downtime. I've been travelling all day, so I haven't had a proper chance to sort things out. Now I'm back, I've managed to get 70% of the network back online. We should be back online in the next two hours.
