trying to play the game, downloaded, yall mentioned cracking the game? it says An internet connection is required to enjoy free, ad-supported game play.

Hey in case you're googling this: the servers are long since dead for the ad-supported version of this game. You'll need to crack the game; cracks for the retail version seem to work fine.

I had some problems installing the game ("insert DVD"-prompt), thus here's a little installation-tutorial:

1.Download the setup (http://www.gamershell.com/download_33916.shtml)

2.Start the downloaded .exe (Win Vista and 7 users should start the .exe in WinXP-compatability-mode), it can take a while until something happens, take your time^^

3.Download the patch (http://www.gamershell.com/download_15162.shtml)

4.Copy the patch (the .exe-file you just downloaded) to your R&F-directory (wherever you installed RiseAndFall)

5.Start the patch

6.Download the crack "Fixed FIles" (http://www.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_rise_and_fall.shtml#Rise%20&%20Fall:%20Civilizations%20at%20War%20v1.15%20 [ENGLISH/GERMAN]%20No-DVD%20Installer)

7.Unrar the downloaded .rar and copy all of the extracted files to you R&F-Directory (same where you copied the patch to)

8.Start the file named "install.crack.bat"

9.Start the game via your desktop shortcut or the RunMe.cmd in your R&F-directory.
